No matter what my rap files refuse to work on PS3 HEN V2.3.1

On my PS3 Superslim model, I have tried multiple ways to get the license to work on my PKG files but no matter what I do they seem to not activate or even recognize the file at all.

I have tried to
-Use both USB ports on PS3
-Placing the PKG and RAP files on the root of my usb
-Placing the files in folders called 'packages' and 'exdata' on my usb
-Unactivating and Reactivating my ps3 multiple times
-Multiple games with their own rap files and none have worked

I am running my ps3 on V4.84 and I have no idea what else to try anymore
 
make sure rap files are not renamed and that the rap part of the name after dot is lowercase. make sure u activated for games not video. if i understand correctly u may only activate for one or the other, not both, so if u activate for games then video u will lose games activation but i may be wrong on that.
 
signed in to psn to activate account? you need to. that will create the act.dat for license activation.

Same for me. I think it must be something in 2.3.1. How can I downgrade to 2.3.0? Can I just overwrite some files?

Simple they never get signed that means you have to keep them on HDD and Have HEN enabled.

Thank you so much for your response! To make sure I understand correctly - are you saying: 1) Copy RAP to EXDATA on HDD 2) install pkg from HDD 3) Run installed content and it should work?

dont use psnpatch for this on hen.

change .RAP to .rap but leave rest of filename alone

place .rap under hdd0/exdata

run the game and it will activate itself.

Thank you, will try this. To be clear, I can launch the software, but it results in black screen and does not progress. VS unsigned software would say that it needs to be activated.

So no, tried and does not work. PS3 HEN 2.3.1. .rap in exdata and nothing. Has anyone with pure HEN (no prior HAn, no cfw) straight 2.3.1. (no prior HEN) been able to sign?
 
I've never heard of that content id. raps will be named after the content id of the game, so if it's not correct, the game won't be decrypted.
 
OK, so this will sound really dumb. If you are anxious and you activate the system twice... You guessed it... deactivated...
 
you can check the activation status by going through sony's official website. it will be linked to your email.
