NoBR Help please.

Hi all,

Right ... I'm having some issues with a PS3 that I bought very cheaply. Long story short, the BR drive is knackered. I've kept the board and connected it all up and I think it's being detected (I have a solid blue light on the right hand side of the console)

I tried to downgrade the FW to a HFW when my problems started. After a couple of days of messing, I managed to install OFW 4.11. I then tried to update to 4.86 to then jailbreak when I got a hardware error code (8002F14E) I think there are still issues with the BR drive stopping the FW from updating. It crashes around 50-60% through the installation. I'm currently trying to install 4.82 after formatting my HDD due to the software update loop.

What are my options to get this console jailbroken. I just want some CFW installed and some games downloaded using PKG.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

8002F14E = General hardware failure

Usually the BD or the WIFI/BT module at fault.

Your BD controller is completly dead so will prevent the update from happening, try and find the same model of bd board and plug it in. Doesnt matter if its not remarryed, the update just needs to talk to the BD logic board.

If you do this and still an issue then the wifi/bt board is borked as well.
