God of War 3 BCUS98111 works but no sound
God of War Ascension NPUA80918 (pkg) works but no sound
Persona 5 BLUS31604 black screen (FIXED: EBOOT.BIN and PARAM.SFO edited to 3.55 Download MEGA)
God Of War Collection BCUS98229 black screen/freeze after choose a game FIXED: convert the game to ISO (I used PS3 ISO Tools 2.2)

Nier Replicant works fine for me (BLJM60223),

Tested by split ISO loaded from nethost

Well we don't deal with piracy here so they should only be talks of personal rips/raps or the thread will be shut down. And Neir Replicant has a translation are we talking about this game as a downloaded copy would be ok so long as we have the original.
 
there already was reports here on the forum of games not working properly that i've cleared (Splinter Cell HD Collection) that was due to all the rips online were from the same source and it wasn't a good rip.mine own backup installs and works correctly,so i've just reasoned to ask to please be certain that backup is from known working disc only,either that or the whole thread doesn't have a point.

Just for pure curiosity, does the chaos theory also runs fine on HEN?

We used to have this issue on pre 4.65 and that was resolved after @deank 's changes.
 
sorry m8,i currently don't have HEN setup as i've loaned my ss to my nephew and it's on OFW to be able to play online,i just have my old rusty cechc. :) also,i only have Chaos Theory for ps3 as part of HD Collection as i'm interested only in retail releases.Chaos Theory works as intended on cfw ripped to iso if that helps. :)

Tested by the ISO rip loaded from nethost.

For those who have issues with blackscreen most likely bad rips or modified for cfw. There used to be days where people have to resign their rips for lower version of CFW (so-called 4.21+ eboot + sprx + self) this can cause issues on HEN since HEN only accepts either untouched original or 3.55 signed EBOOT/SELF/SPRX.

Thanks for the fix but I have to ask @STLcardsWS is it ok we host the eboot fixes? I know there used to be fixes there for True Blue rips but not sure if we can have them here. If so a nice repository would be nice and I can add Attack on Titan game fix @Joonie made and the DLC fix I made for it as well. I also made one for Pier Solar if we can post here.

Also @NathanHale God of War Ascension BCUS98232 is working fine ripped to ISO if the PKG game listed above doesn't work.

Sounds like all your rips were modified / split *.666 stuff). I personally do not think this thread is needed as most reports coming from bad scene rips or modified rips for CFW back then. MultiMAN used to rip games to USB (FAT32) and split large files due to 4GB limit, and multiMAN had a feature to merge them on the fly by caching which is not needed for PS3HEN or COBRA CFW.

The only genuine one I know of was Attack on Titan. Do you have any idea why this was?
 
I got around to testing NieR. Converted to ISO using ps3 iso tools / makeps3iso. Placed on dev_hdd0/PS3ISO and loaded with multiman, works like a charm.

I'll test Arcania again tomorrow or something. Also planning to test Tomb Raider Trilogy. I know that one has blackscreen issues when in folder format.

Folder format can be a pain, sometime you need BD-Mirror, sometimes you don't. Sometimes you can use app_home other times you must have a official disc in the drive and boot from there. Sometimes it's a mix of both. You should always convert to ISO compatibly is around 99% and no need to adjust settings like with folder format. Another damn good reason is if you play online. PSN Patch doesn't give the same coverage with JB folders as it does with ISO due to JB folder not being able to use PSN Patch stealth extensions.

FYI, BD Mirror is handled by PS3HEN (COBRA), and if this option is used by backup managers, the compatibility can be broken.

But right, PSNPatch breaks this BD Mirror for folder rips.

Just use ISO to avoid 98% of all issues. Sure it takes a minute or so to make one but the time it saves trouble shooting is worth it. Nothing to remember/do other then make ISO, mount and play.
 
I would like to share my experiences with HEN.

I have over 100 ISO which I made from my origininal discs using Multiman. All of these games boot fine, no problems, no black screen no need to do anything.

Another batch of games are games which I have created from scene releases, I also, have converted them to ISO using PS3 ISO rebuilder, checked IRD to make 1:1: rips. All of those games boot fine, zero problems.

One more batch of games are games which I have created from scene releases, but could not check IRD and verify the ISO, so they were made with PS3 ISO rebuilder GenPS3iso tool. 99% of these games work, only one game does not work for me and it is FIFA 19 neither US nor EU releases, I do not know if it a bad release or it is incompatible with HEN, because on CFW it boots without any problems, have not checked PSN versions.

If you want better compatibility with HEN I would recommend to use ISO format, build your ripped JB games to ISO using ISO rebuilder and check IRD to know if it matches 1:1. A lot of releases have split files to .66600, before you build ISO you have to merge them (even if you do not check the IRD, still join them), I also put update file in PS3_UPDATE folder before creating ISO even if I cannot check the IRD.

Split ISO work as well as merged to me does not matter if internal or external drive.

Guys do not forget that this thread is not about discussion of scene releases, but about HEN compatibility. Talk about 1:1 rips which you created yourself or made with PS3 ISO Rebuilder with IRD check.

Formats: ISO makeps3iso, ISO genps3iso
Action taken: Pressed the power button once, to safely shutdown the PS3.

I think your EBOOT isn't original. Have you verified it with IRD? Managunz has a feature that can check your RIP if you don't feel comfortable doing that on PC

@Joonie Yes, I'm doing it on PC. I don't want to use the PS3's drive to dump these games. I'm still new with this ISO conversion. I will take a look about that "IRD", is this a tool to verify bad dumps?
