Noob question - How to get PS1 games working?

I've got my PS2 with FMCB and OPL working. I'm wondering what to do to get PS1 games working too? I've been reading a lot of tutorials and info on this site, but I haven't seem to come across instructions for that yet. Can anyone point me to some documentation?

To get the emulator to running from OPL :
How to make art appear for PS1 games on OPL, that's a tutorial for USB games. The same can be done for internal HDD games, with the +OPL partition.

To get the emulator to running from wLE_kHn :
1) Get the POPStarter package and POPS files;
2) Follow the quickstart guide;
3) Copy POPSTARTER.ELF to your POPS folder;
4) "Run" a game VCD from the File Browser.
