and you changed the eboot.bin of the update by the original of the game
 
Is it possible to convert a disc only game that has NO updates? Ive tried patching in a dlc as an alternative but the game is unable to run after installing the pkg

No, there is no way
I've only read bits here and there, but from my understanding, the reason a game needs an update for it to work is because when a game boots via this method it boots the resigned update from internal hdd, while a game without an update will try to boot from bluray, and as there is no disc in the bluray drive, it will fail to boot

  1. Copy/Move the contents of your ISO to "\WORK\CFW2OFW Helper" folder
  2. Run "CFW2OFW Helper.exe"
  3. CFW2OFW Helper will start to download the relevant update for your game.
  4. It will create a folder with your Games title
  5. Inside this folder are another 2 folders. "NPUB..." and "BLUS..." these may be different if your game region is different to my example.
  6. Copy/Move these 2 folders into "\WORK\make-backup-pkg" folder.
  7. Run "do.bat"
  8. Leave the command window to do its thing.
  9. When complete, you will have 3 PKGs that start with "000000-NPUB...." (filenames may vary)

  11. Sign each one by dragging each one onto "ps3xploit_rifgen_edatresign.exe"
  12. Copy the resulting signed PKGs to USB root

I noticed in this step.. isn't necessary to resign all the the 3 pkgs.. only the LIC.
I was able to install and play a converted game with the PKG's unresigned. Just resign the LIC one.
 
Hi,

After I tried everything, still cannot install PSP games on my ps3 console as showing 80029563 and sometimes 80029517 error. Really need someone help me out please.....(its not the compatibility problem, its a installation problem)

This is what I did for installation of PSP game:

  • I formatted all data in my ps3, did full format of all data and setting.
  • logged in the new throwaway account
  • Did game content activation
  • Finished the HAN installer
  • Finished the HAN Enabler
  • Finished the ACT/IDPS Dumper got the 2 files (act.dat and idps.hex)
  • Downloaded PSP game ISOs ( I tried at least 5 different games from 3 different websites)
  • Used PSP2PS3 with all default setting and generated PKG files
  • Used PS3Xploit Resigner to get PKG files signed by the act and idps files generated by my own console
  • After whole process I still get 80029563 error when I tried to install pkg( By using: package manager - install package files - standard, not the PSN content installation)
  • Tried ps3xploit_rifgen_edatresign tools still same error at the same place
  • Tried 5 different PSP games (checked on PSP Emulator Compatibility List, these games are all playable) with signed by 2 different resigner no one can install
  • Enabled PKG debug still error.
  • tried to using PKG Linker install psp games, same error 80029563 or 80029517 (I have successfully installed ps3 game through PKG Linker and ps3 games running well)

I don't know what I did wrong, I even format my own console still can't install PSP games. (I tried ps3 games Hot Line Miami and Tomb Raider, and they are working well)

I tried to do all these steps on 3 different computers ( 1 mac with virtual machine and 2 windows laptop). Can ensure computer is not the reason.

Please somebody help me out. I truly need help.

ps: is the ps3 4000 (4001B) support psp emulator right?

after the 3 pkgs were installed, does han need to be enabled to run the game?

I think HAN must be enabled for all backup content...
It's a natural thing for me now to enable HAN before I do anything.
Just booted the console, enable HAN.
About to play a backup, enable HAN.
Forgot if HAN enabled, enable HAN.

Just want to verify becuase I havent tried to run a converted game with han enable because I dont have converted game yet. Im just curious about this becuase c00 games run even if han is not enabled. and Games that requires rap files needs han enabled to run it. Just curious about converted(cfw2ofw) games since it doesnt require rap like c00 so mybe it will run without han enabled?
 
I followed your guide about installing blu-ray games and when i tried that and installed GTA 4, it gives me an infinite dimmed loading screen with in-game music and pics. Help please
