Some content doesn't need to be resigned. But for the interest of consistency, we resign all content for HAN so you don't need to remember which games need which method, just enable HAN and then you know all content will work.
 
Edit: I don't think you will be 'asked' for act.dat/idps.hex during the convertion process, as long as they are in the rifgen folder, the resigned will just do its thing without asking for input.

I'm a little bummed out these last few days trying to make some games work but, obviously, only Minis worked. At this point I've given up any hope of playing 3rd Birthday on my ps3.

Hm, I think that some games on that list only work with a cfw ps3, not a HAN ps3 like mine...

PSX games have the best compatibility on the PS3.

Yeah, if CCFF7 works then it's time to pick it up again but also have you test Dissidia 012 yet?
 
As a "noob" (i have past experience with cfw but first time with xploit) I find it confusing, you should say where to put these two files in the guide

Some of these errors can be a little trouble pinpointing the exact error. After a quick check, GTA SA (The PS2 version is compatible, and for future reference here is a compatibility list for PS2 games: http://www.psx-place.com/threads/compatibility-list-ps2-on-ps3.1306/ )
So this has to be a problem either with converting the PS2 ISO, or a problem with the initial Xploit setup.

A few questions to try and help narrow this error down:

Can you recall ANY steps in the guide that you may have had trouble understanding or were confused about and weren't sure you set it up right for the Xploit setup?
Any confusing parts about the game conversion process?
Have you been able to install other games and run them for that specific playstation type? (I'm assuming you are trying to install the PS2 version of GTA SA)

I'll try my best to help narrow the problem down, as it could easily be something as simple as having a space in a folder name in your WORK folder, or may have placed your act.dat & idps.dex in the wrong folder.

I'm learning about some of these errors as I spend more time here, and am working on getting a small compilation guide going that would accompany this tutorial to help with some of these issues alot of people are running into.

**If you can get another game to work, IT IS POSSIBLE that your GTA SA Image is bad. If anything else try using a backup from a different source to see if you have different results.

1. Make sure your console has a PSN account, and that you have activated that account for games.
2. Make sure USB drive is readable by the PS3, eg. compatible, formatted to FAT32 etc. If its working it should appear on the XMB when you plug it in.
 
need help on valkyrie profile 2 game works but plays all glitchy like 5fps any suggestion?
I'm sorry but isn't this site/forum about helping ppl that have problem with PS s**t? It seem like alot of ppl don't want to help or give advice n i know ur busy n s**t at least reply if u can help or not. I know i'm new to this forum n i'm ranting but come on at least try to answer someone question not refering to myself it's bs. At least someone or any body try's to help that's all i'm asking ban me if u want i don't care but it seem alot of ppl don't get any help when they need it n it's F*CKED UP. SORRY BOUT MY FRENCH LOL

He have a Slim 3000A1 is it compatible with HAN?

Also he plays only battlefield on line, so, will he be able to play on his account battlefield on line without risk, and in the HAN account only the pkg games?

Is a PS2 game that runs under a emulator, this specific game has problems, and are partially solved by using a CONFIG file

Use the forum search and you are going to find 40 messages related with the problems of that game and the experimental CONFIGS people has been trying with it

The letter "A" is the capacity of the HDD (A=small)... and after the letter there is not any "1"
So i guess you are talking about a CECH-3000A

All models of ps3 are compatible with HAN.

As to the risks associated with using HAN online, they are close to 0, especially if you don't use mods or cheats. Imho the risks are lower on HAN than on CFW anyway.

Still, using hacked consoles to play online is a breach of PSN T&C even if no piracy is involved. The breach can always result in a ban of the console id & the PSN account used for connecting. For that reason, one should try to use a disposable PSN account if possible ie an account that was not used to make game purchases.

Also keep in mind that the use of a handful of games (basically those games plagued by players using mods & cheats online like CODs/GTA..) is generally riskier on jailbroken consoles. It's often due in part to the fact that those titles game servers sysadmins are more likely to report any modded system that gets detected.
Consequently, we always recommend ri proceed with caution when playing online with a hacked console, no matter the type of hack.

Finally, if the games you wish to play are retail discs converted with CFW2OFW, HAN is only needed for the pkg installation process. Afterwards, HAN can be removed & you can play the games on unmodified OFW.

Any other way to install the .rif? I always use http://**ps3xploit.com >Domain no Longer owned by team** (ps3xploit.me =new)/han/actrif_copier.html but every time it fails to start han and ask me to refresh page, sometimes I spend more than 30 minutes trying to install a simple .rif

Hi everyone. Need some help if possible. Im trying to install Gran turismo 6(BCES01893), but my game only have one folder - PS3_GAME, and ps3_disc. Game is supported by CFW2OFW. How should i install games like this one?

I presume you are talking about a downloaded/pirated copy of the game, otherwise you would have a retail disc using the standard folder tree with a PS3_UPDATE folder.
Keep in mind that you will not get any help with anything related to piracy, check the forum rules.

In any case, all the necessary info to prepare PS3 retail games on disc with CFW2OFW or PS3gameconverter is given in the OP PS3 Bluray game section (Part 5). I suggest you read it carefully.

after various tests I found a solution:

1Following this guide
"How to Make PS3 CFW Games Work on Any PlayStation 3 OFW Guide" on google

I converted the game. the result is the NEPB01765 folder
2 I converted the PS3_GAME folder also with CFW2OFW Helper.
3 after the conversion I have compared the two folders NPEB01765 and I noticed that the EBOOT.BIN file was missing in the USRDIR folder converted with the Ps3GameConverter. I used the EBOOT.BIN file converted with CFW2OFW Helper, putting it in the NPEB01765 / USRDIR folder of the Ps3GameConverter.
4 at this point just use the "make backup pkg" folder NPEB01765 converted with the Ps3GameConverter with the file EBOOT.BIN, instead of the one converted with CFW2OFW Helper.
5 the game starts and goes correctly.

Sorry if I did many repetitions but they were necessary to explain a complicated prediction like this.
