PS3 Official PS3 Toolset Update (v1.2.007) Release (4.91 Support)

Following Sony firmware update of 4.91 for the PS3, developer's across the scene have been updating various exploits and tools. We have seen developer @Evilnat release his 4.91 PS3 Custom Firmware's earlier in the week. Then we recently just had @esc0rtd3w & @Joonie provide PS3HEN (& HFW) updated with 4.91 Support. Now we have developer @bguerville with an update to his PS3 Toolset to support the exploiting of 4.91 OFW for custom firmware installation for capable models.

The PS3 Toolset's - System Manager (SM) will allow for exploiting of the PlayStation 3 internal flash, to then allow for a CFW installation such as Evilnat's Custom Firmware. You must have a CFW capable model, the PS3 Toolset will determine if your console is CFW compatible.(All Fat Models and early Slim Models).

  • The PS3 Toolset v1.2.007 update is now live!
    A minor update.
    • 4.91 firmware support was added
    • custom syscalls type detection was fixed
    • idps/psid is now hidden by default in system manager
    • I used the opportunity to apply a few minor fixes as well.

A more comprehensive update enabling the file manager is currently being worked on and will be rolled out in due time, no ETA as always.

    Just for info.
A few changes were also made to the server, I hope it won't cause any issues.. we haven't experienced any during testing.
I assume I will get reports if there are new unexpected access problems.

Thanks to @esc0rtd3w for his patience and testing, night after night, various projects including mine.
    Thanks to @Evilnat & @littlebalup.
Thanks to all Toolset users who donated, your contributions keep the new site alive and updated, I may have a little candy just for you guys in the next update as a token of appreciation..

Hello,
My console model is CECHH04.
It seems I did something wrong, but it not work as earlier for me. All was on same console(CECHH04):
I had 4.90 long ago, used BGToolset for CFW. And all worked perfect.
After the update to 4.91 it ask me update from internet, I agreed, it reboot to the save menu and then ask the firmware - like it not uploaded. I downloaded 4.91 from offsite - updated. Multiman not work(and it understandable because I was on OFW).
Today I open browser, run to bgtoolset page(I have this in bookmark already) - and it loaded but no beep, no any sacral info. Only "The page connot be dispalyed 80710028" in Logs page.
I redownloa OFW and update again - no change.
I format HDD - no change.
I swap for new HDD - no change.
I understand I miss something -but it is first time when I reapply bgtools set for same console so I have no idea what I can do.
Could someone please help?

Checked on second CFW(via bg toolset 4.90 earlier, the model with 4 usb slots) - the site give same message in log page. Now I definitely missed something. Maybe I need something checked on site because I already used bg toolset for downgrade earlier?

It not show anything in right upper corner too

Error 0x80710028
CELL_HTTP_ERROR_CANNOT_AUTHENTICATE
Cannot authenticate the transaction (not enough info)

Not exactly sure why you are getting this error, esc0 and I have never had it during testing, first time I hear of it.
There were server changes that may somehow impact access but I doubt you would be alone having issues in that case and there has been no report of error so far.

Make sure you are using the right URL like so:
https://www.ps3toolset.com
If it still does not work, try with another internet connection like a smartphone as tether.

After half of the day - it work. It seems I have trouble with internet or console or both.

I know many people know it already but - thank you all for every day updates, support and for creating place where games is alive

P.S. I try add names - but the system say my post simmilar to spam)

Hello! I don't know if this could have happen, but is it possible with a feature update to make this toolset showing PS3 temps? Without installing CFW etc.

Hi i am following a tutariul from mrmario11. I did evereything he said and the site showed that my ps3 was compatible and all that stuff. I am now pathing my flash memory but its been frozen for 45 minutes... Should i wait it out or do smth? Please help.

Weird thing just happened to me when using bgtoolset on the superslim before enabling hen
after using the toolset and closing the browser hen won't enable anymore for some reason

That's weird... mine should be working and yet it's out of memory?
When you start the browser, a memory container is created and most available RAM is allocated to it.
To do its job, the PS3 Toolset must borrow about 20Mb from the browser memory container, if the memory borrowing fails, you get the error you are getting..

Afaik it happens for ONLY one reason, because some memory has already been borrowed from the container and was never given back, the PS3 Toolset can't borrow any more.
Closing the browser while the Toolset is busy doing certain operations can potentially lead to this kind of issue when restarting the browser and reloading the Toolset, because previous session threads would be hanging & allocated memory never freed, in that case you should just reboot to clean the mess.
And as a rule, you should let the Toolset finish whatever it's doing before closing the browser, it's much better overall..

Hello, I'm intending on using your tool for the first time tonight (UK time), but I just want to check that this is indeed nothing more than a READ of my Syscon chip information? Nothing is changed in my console as a result of using this tool? I'm only interested in taking copies of anything recommended from the use of this tool, on to a memory stick I've prepared, and basically knowing my running hours, boot cycles and error codes since my console seems to have suffered its first YLOD last week. The console is still working (for now), but I'd like to understand what caused my crash last week.

I'm new to all this, and recently joined this forum a few weeks ago due to issues with my PlayTV, but I'm now more deeply reading and getting to understanding more on the topics of YLOD, Syscon, console model variant differences, CFW etc, none of which I knew anything about just over a week ago (a LOT of reading and researching been carried out in the past week!).

I should add my console type is a CECHK03 with OFW V4.91.

Impressive work by you guys, very well done. I plan to submit my findings to your research survey once I've got them.

Thanks in advance for your reply.

Loading the Toolset to verify the syscon error logs will make absolutely no changes to your console.
Good luck with the investigations.
