PS2 [Open PS2 Loader] Requests, suggestions, ideas

1) Is it possible to disable memory card (MC and VMC) to all games by default? I would like to enable it to specific game only.
2) Is there a way to reboot console from OPL menu or by using hotkeys in FMCB ?

  1. That sounds interesting! I'll forward the question for a "block" of physical MemoryCards and it being added to the VMC-Submenu in the game-settings (if I understood it correctly).
  2. Press START (when you are on the game-list) and choose Exit?!

The difference is that i want to REBOOT the console. Like in the latest releases of FMCB. So if u can`t help - don`t waste your time by asking strange questions.

I could help, if you would actually explain the difference you'd expect.

OPL's exit doesn't "exit to FMCB" but actually launches rom0:OSDSYS which then starts an OSDSYS-Update if present and supported (2.20 BOOT-ROM and older).

Guess what is loaded, when the PS2 is "REBOOT"... Oh... It's rom0:OSDSYS!

FMCB's "Reload Configuration" is the only thing which comes close to your description and guess what it does... It executes rom0:OSDSYS, but with a call to skip the logo and isn't really new either.

So if you can't answer RELATED questions, don't expect anyone to help you.

Would be cool if there was a warning to disconnect a physical memory card before using virtual memory cards to avoid corruption.
Example, if the game has this option activated, a warning message would show when selected:

Virtual Memory Card function is activated with this game
It is recommended to remove any memory cards connected to the console.
When done, press START to proceed.

It is disabled for every game as default, to activate with a specific game, you go to the game settings (Triangle) and enable it.
To activate with every game as default, press START then enable VMC.
I only use it for Burnout Takedown since it has issues recognizing third party memory cards but it works fine with VMC.

ÂżCould it be possible to load bin / cue from ps1 via OPL?:psbutton:
Without emulation, load them as PS2 ISOs are loaded so that there are no errors like emulators (POPStarter / PS2PSXe)

Is it posible to emulate the PS2 controller with a lightgun for shooters such as Black ? LightGuns work very well , even better than Move but few games support it .

- ExFAT support for OPL.
Accomplished and soon or already in the OPL Betas.
- Support for CSO/GZIP compressed ISOs:
We have ZSO-Support now.
- Support for 576p in OPL menu:
Should work or not?
- Firewire support:
Accomplished, although not yet very compatible.
- Add into OPL ability to act as mini-OPL (HDD OSD):
Accomplished via arguments and OPL Launcher.
- Change place on HDD where OPL settings are stored
Accomplished/Added AFAIK.

Is it possible to add a function to change the storage location of .cfg files (CFG folder) and/or VMC to another device?
Some SMB sharing devices are read-only which makes it impossible to save compatibility modes for each game.

I think adding a multimedia files tab in opl would be a great feature. maybe the best app that works with these multimedia files is sms, but because it's an old homebrew, its interface isn't so visually pleasing. performance is satisfactory as far as I've tested, despite requiring avi divx files. even if it is not possible to increase compatibility for more accessible formats such as mp4 and mkv, the simple fact of having a multimedia tab that allows customization by adding covers to movies, series, albums and songs, information such as synopsis, year of release, lyrics would already make this process to play multimedia much more enjoyable and immersive. another interesting thing would be to add a feature to display date and time in the opl interface. I noticed that the sms app has this despite being quite old

One request:

- APA support for external (USB) drives

Possible scenarios:

- When lending the internal HDD with my games to a friend that has a Slim Ps2 (or also for playing them on my own Ps2 slim).
- When doing quick tests on PC and Ps2 (testing cover arts, games you're unsure will work, etc...), it'd be more comfortable having the ability to check things connecting to USB.

Please add feature of changing or removing opl logo and add option to load custom logo of OPL it would looked more orignal of we could add custom image of ps at place of opl logo while it boots
