Optimal ps3 temps

I'm sorry this has probably been asked soooo many times, but:

A. What is the preferred fan speed for a fat ps3?
B. What are temps are considered good temps for the cpu/rsx after a couple hours of gameplay?
C. Is 60 C for cpu and 46 C for rsx good after a couple hours of gameplay?

My settings: manual fan speed of 35% on a checha01 model with new thermal paste

I know a lot about cooling on the 360, not so much about the ps3, but generally the same or similar rules apply. with the ps3, 68 or below is good. 60 is good for the 360, but the 360 also runs cooler in my experience, just in general. however, the cell can endure heat better than the cpu of the 360. one thing I'd watch out for is the difference in temps. temps shouldn't be more than 10-12 degrees C difference for either system or there could be a problem, regardless of model. your temps are within that range. that also seems rather cold for any system too, so it's a bit weird.

Those match the temps of a 40nm RSX, dude looks to be lucky

but he's using a phat ps3 for one thing. for another, there shouldn't be that great a difference between the two temperatures.

I have a fat ps3 (backwards compatible) that i sent out to have reballed last year (the fans were getting loud, but everything worked fine- i just didn't want it to blow up on me). when it came back the loud fans were fixed - so i installed CFW and added webman mod to it so i could watch the temperatures and set the fans to run at higher speeds (to prevent it from burning up).

before i altered the fans it was running around 70C after a couple hours of ps1 gameplay. i then set the webman mod to manually control the fans at 30% which i felt was very tolerable and the chips stayed around 60c (but in either set up the chips were never the same temp. it seemed they were always about 4c difference).

my slims (i have 3 now running webman mod and at 30% they stay just below 60c (around like 58c) but again the chips are not equal in temperature). if you want exact numbers or photographic documentation i would be happy to get it.

40nm RSX is miles better than 90nm/65nm rsx, only thing he needs to worry about now is caps

Don't use fan speed percent setting. Instead set it to auto at the degrees temperature setting. I like to set mine to auto at 65 degrees.

Good temps nothing to worry about, I also own a bc fat to me 35% is loud, i would set it to 30% but even that sounds louder than 40% on my 25xx's.
