PS3 Overscan on 16:10 TV

Hello, everyone. I have a Samsung LE22A656A1D TV which is 16:10 and 1680x1050. It's connected by a HDMI cable. I set it in 16:9 mode which gives black bars on top and bottom (and that's fine with me). But I noticed that some parts beyond the borders weren't showing and that's a thing called "overscan". If I change the screen mode from 16:9 to "just scan" I get the full picture but the 16:9 is stretched vertically to 16:10 in order to fill the entire screen. On the PS3 I tried selecting only 720p, only 1080p and all the resolutions but it didn't change anything. Is there a way to get the full picture in 16:9 with black bars?

I think your TVs video settings are the only way to go here (or at least that's my understanding).
The ps3 doesn't have native oversan settings....

720p is 1280x720 so it will result in blurry low quality image anyway because native for Your matrix is higher. Scaling from 1080p will result in much better picture.

Overscan options should be in monitor settings. If not, You cannot do anything about it.

Check all your TV modes in options. I don't know if "just scan" is the same as "adapt to screen" (this is on my Samsung tv, literally translated from italian. This option shows the full image, always in perfect aspect ratio without overscanning).

On certain Samsung tvs some options are adjustable (you can move the picture and/or adjust the size too).
