PS3 Package list pkg

There's something that's been bothering me for a while now.
Since you need to install a new Package_list everytime you update the pkg linker list, does this file reinstall the one previously installed? Or am I installing a bunch of package_list? It worries me about the storage part.
I'd like if anyone could clear my doubts, thanks.

I think it overwrites the data but there is one thing that has caught my attention, the package_list.pkg at first weighed around 100kb, right now I am weighing 3Mb. I suspect that what it will do, will be to create a kind of gamelist, and that the old list is not deleted but that they are adding more to the list not @pink1?

I think it may be adding old icons in the new pkg. The icons are in bin/icons so you can see if it has the old ones still. I thought I had it deleting them but that may be one of the things I started and never finished adding.

Ahhmm well, i will take a look. Of course, my question was if in time I could weigh 1gb to give an example. Type if I delete a game from the ps3 and then add it back to pkglinker if it increases the space or stays the same? Anyway, I'll look at what you tell me.Thanks. A greeting.

I'll explain a little about how it works instead of just giving you an answer :)

When you run pkg linker it scans the folder for pkg's, checks the header, extracts/patches the icons to the icons folder. Next it copies the icons to the pkg folder, makes a new lists xml with only the pkg's that are found then makes the list pkg.
When you install the pkg any files that aren't the same name will be overwritten by the new ones. So the pkg may be larger but it's not adding all of that on to what is all ready on the ps3. Let's say you have installed a 500kb list pkg then add more games and the list is now 1000kb when you install the new pkg it uses 1000kb on the ps3 not 1500.

I just got carried away typing and forgot what I was trying to explain lol
I hope that helps with what you were asking about

I've seen what you said, I've deleted the bin / icons / and bin / PS3_game icons. It has already returned to 100kb. Thanks greetings.
