PFS BatchKit Manager (2TB) Support

PS2 PFS BatchKit Manager (2TB) Support 1.2.0

Thank you for your feedback!

I don't have this bug but according to the error it is that the cache file does not seem to exist which is strange because it creates this file when the script starts

Are you using the NBD server by any chance?

Not that I'm aware of.

I just run your script and go straight to HDD Management.

I've tried it a few times in different places on my PC.

No it is still present you have to do it with nbd server
Managed to try it out to see how it is, I don't know if it's only in my case or not but the transfer speeds gone to hell:

Using 1.1.7 with HDL-Dump I managed to do 5.1mb/s when transfering NFS Carbon, ~12 minutes transfer
Using 1.1.8 with the NBD Server I managed to do 1.92mb/s with the same game with it taking ~31 minutes

Considering all that part of disabling Secure Boot because the driver isn't recognized by MS and those transfer speeds and time, I guess I will forget my install at 1.1.7 since this tool is quite useful, either way thanks for making it.

Ah yes I see what you're talking about I will restore it in the next update I didn't know if it still worked because I never used it and I never got any feedback for this feature until today

I don't know when I will release it but you can use version 1.1.7 in the meantime

Probably because I'm one of the last people on the face of the earth using a fat PS2 with the original network adapter(with a sata board) that transfer games through the network lol

But shame that it isnt as good as with HDL Dump, mounting the HD through the network was something really cool to see.

same issue here, 2TB HDD Seagate Firecuda 7200RPM 3.5"
PS2 Phat 30001 with Original Network Adapter with bitfunx mod (IDE > SATA)
when I start NDB Server the OPL doesn't show the IP for connection
I tried v1.2.0 2049, 2061 and 2070
PFS Batchkit 1.1.7 and 1.1.8

Thanks @GDX for the latest update.

I tried the NBD server and it worked fine with OPL 1.1.0 Stable. Awesome to control the PS2 with your scripts over the network. I saw you also offer a specific OPL version for your tool, but as said latest stable also works.

I've found one thing so far: installing artwork for games doesn't work on my pc, as wget throws a certificate error (Although implicitly so I had to do some testing to find this out).
As a workaround I've added --no-check-certificate for all calls in the script, after which it works.

I never got this error but thanks I will check I will post an update soon it will be ready soon I rewrote most of the code

@GDX I was wondering, are you still working on this program? I sure do hope so :)

I recently came across this:
https://www.psx-place.com/threads/t...al-exfat-2tb-hdd-and-multi-bdm-devices.40018/

It lets you use hdd's larger then 2 tb with a specific build of OPL. The drive has to be converted to exFat and then iso's can be placed in either CD or DVD folder, depending on the type of game.

Is it possible that PFS Batchkit also supports hdd's >2tb (that have efFat as their fs)? And could in theory also Popstarter support this for ps1 games?

Regards

Yes, I'm still working on it. A big update will arrive soon; I don't know exactly when, but soon.

PFS Batchkit Manager will support downloading ART and CFG for ISO games. There will also be other features that can be used for exFAT hard drives.

Regarding POPS, I don't know if it works with exFAT.

That's great, looking forward :D

But can pfs batchkit recognize an exfat formatted hdd as a ps2 drive? And also install games as an iso?

Also, will there be an option to remove games from pfs batchkit or is this not possible?

@cloudstrife Cannot, what You calling "exfat formatted hdd" is just ordinary PC logic structure. Normal OPL understand only APA, so all tools related too.

Possible but not safe. Delete game partitions from PS2 itself.

Yeah I use a special OPL build from grimdoomer that can handle exfat hdd's with iso's.

Can APA drives also handle iso's?

Also note I'm using an interal hdd with a sata adapter

Hi! @GDX , is it possible to reorganize the game partitions after delete them in OPL so I can retrive that empty space as available? Or if i delete a game partition do i need to rebuild all again?

GDX updated PFS BatchKit Manager (2TB) Support with a new update entry:

PFS-BatchKit-Manager

- Added an option to create shortcuts for PS1 games to OPL for USB/HDD
- Added free space check in POPS partitions during installation. If there is no more space in one of the partitions, the file will be ignored. or transfer to another __.POPS# partition
- Added Option for convert cover ART to 8-bit colors for improved loading in OPL and reduced RAM consumption (Thanks to Ripto for the suggestion).
- Added ELF CRC hash when generating cheat files.
- Added Generating cheat files for...
