Phat Freezing when patching 4.84

Hi all,

I have a problem and I hope someone can help me.
I am trying to jailbreak my ps3 and following this guide:

All steps are going ok, up to:
"Patching NOR Flash memory". When I click that, the system freezes after 1-2 seconds, including the moving wallpaper. After 5 minutes I have to press the power-button a long time and restart to get out of that freeze.

Things I have done & tried:
- I have installed the HFW 4.84 twice before starting to patch.
- All MD5-checks verify
- The USB is fat32 and accessible
- I've tried patching over the internet (ps3xploit) as well as local running my own miniweb-server.
- I have set the homepage (either ps3xploit or miniweb) as current homepage, then quit the webbrowser (circle) and reloaded it.
- Initializing goes fine

An alternative was to go to the nor_hdd page.. but then I get a warning that it's specifically for 4.82 and not 4.84.

I hope someone has some suggestions for me on how to proceed.

Some info:
Model: CECHK04, Fat model.
Current firmware: 4.84 HFW

Small update: the HDD-version did seem to work.. going through the process now.. will update here when it works

Ok, final update: the ps3 kept freezing, until I tried the HDD-version of the NOR-patch. Downloaded the .jpg and after that everything went smoothly. Hopefully this helps someone in the future. Thread can be closed.
