Pinky’s PS3 Tutorials

How about Initializing at all with CFW, would you suggest doing it?
Because I used to Revert back to OFW/Rebug 3.55.4 Rex before initializing and then Updating to latest CFW with Rebug.
 
if you mean activation, that is a good plan. I've gotten banned once before, so I bought a new system. I was hesitant to sign in just to activate, 'cause I don't know what caused the ban. I don't play online. when I do have to sign in, I take precautions.

I meant just Initializing because most of the time I like my System to be clean, so I start from the beginning. and also, sometimes, I upgrade to a Higher Capacity of Storage.

I want to know if Initializing with CFW in the latest version is ok?
but to be safe for me, I always downgrade to 3.55.4 REX, then I initialize there, then replace the internal HDD, and from this state, I reinstall 3.55.4 REX again because of HDD upgrade. Then update again to latest CFW, then This is where I set up everything again with multiman, webman, and others

it should be okay. on my new ps3, I swapped drives on ferrox 4.83. no problems with it. is that what you mean?
 
@pinky Is it possible to break the color change according to the month and time of day?

you can prevent the color change by month by making all months the same color. you can even do this in settings on the xmb if you like one color over the others, so you don't even have to mess with the lines.qrc. I've never looked into preventing the color change by time of day.
 
looks like my pics are down as are many of the links. I'm not sure if I have the pics anymore as they were on an older phone that had to be reformatted. I have the links though, and I'll upload specific ones if someone asks. I really don't feel like maintaining the tutorials. it's a lot of work to find what goes with what. aside from my own working files (templates), most apps are easy to find. though, it was a major pita to find g2d. also, some are no longer needed like the avoiding the psn restriction for things like youtube. it doesn't work anymore, so you have to use one of @esc0rtd3w 's pkg files.

I'm in the process or trying to be of getting out of the scene. the only thing that keeps me coming back is the friends I've made here and temp (the only 2 sites I go to). and, I do like helping people. :)
 
yes, that's correct. you can find a copy in the WCB (white coldboot) link or search google. g2d is the only file I had difficulty finding.
