PS4 Pinky's PS4 Tutorials

I don't know how that works, but it probably needs a small unlocker like most on the disc dlc. that's usually like a hundred or two-hundred KBs. I lost my day one star ocean dlc for preordering the game because of the system deleting it to make way for my backup.

Got 1 of 2 PS4s today, pretty easy to do the exploit. But is it better to self host or use the dns of Al-Azif?

self-host if you want to be completely offline. though, once you run something like x project once, install to it to the cache then disconnect from the internet. there's a checkbox for "connect to internet" in the ps4's system settings. it's extra protection.

@NoSoul81 , if you could use my backup tutorial, I'd be grateful. I'd like you to check if I've left anything out. KiiWii gave it the once over. he liked the format, the tabs, which apparently temp now has. I think I used spoilers in my tuts for them, since they didn't have them at the time.

Seems good from what I can tell, but today is the first day I've ever hacked a PS4 so I'm a bit of a noob at this scene.

take your time. make sure to 0 out the keystone for sure. I don't think the save actually gets corrupted, but it will be corrupted in the database if you don't. it may ask if you want to delete the save though, but I can't remember.

I just wanted to mention that you can fix the error with orbis if a file is not A0100-V0100. this only happens with patches, because you need the original base package to make an update pkg. I think the issue is with gengp4. if you rename the file inside (can be opened with notepad++), it will create a pkg without error, and it will successfully install on the ps4. I have all games installed along with saves working.

I just thought I'd mention this here (since the tutorial is up), but I did manage to merge fix and theme together into one package. you have a choice: use official package, then psdlc to make 128KB fix package. or, on top of that or if the package is already installed, follow the theme tutorial to make a theme package. this works for dlc as well, since themes are considered dlc. thus far, I've encountered no themes that didn't work this way, so it's doubtful dlc will cause issue either. it's a little more difficult than dumping a game or a patch, since you have to ftp the content, but on 1.76 you had to do the same thing for games/patches. games and patches are stripped of pfs and placed in the sandbox folder, but now you can dump them to a usb drive with payload.

added "how to use save mounter" tutorial. I can't recall if I mentioned this (think I did), but do not open a game while using save mounter. Leeful has told me that it can lead to save corruption. you can mount/unmount without having to do that. this is much easier to do than it sounds. also, unlike the github tutorial, you do not need to mess with the sce_sys folder at all or input your aid as little endian. I've simplified the process. I used xproject, since that's what I normally use, but any method to use the save mounter payload should work, so replace the first step if you use something else.

I slightly misremembered the name of the icon0.png folder. here it is (for themes). I'm mostly posting this, so that I can fix the tutorial with the right name later on:

another person afraid of using account activator and save mounter... believe me, they're very easy to use.

nm. it doesn't work. the pc then can't get a valid ip from the sandisk connect.

not sure how valid this is, but I think I've learned the secret to not getting kp on the ps4 (at least most of the time): do not plug anything into the left usb port (I've heard this before), especially a flash drive or hdd. extended storage is fine in the right port only. also, once you get hen running, open a game, load up your save, then close the game. if it doesn't kp, it shouldn't from there on out. this works on 5.05, but I've heard it also works on 6.72. so far, these two things have worked for me. I've been on rest mode for two weeks now without a kp. I'd get them quite often with something plugged into the left usb port. I had a flash drive in there, because I lost its end cap. ;)

looks like some games have issues unless you spoof the firmware, at least that appears to be true with them on 5.05. I cached a new version of hen with a 9.00 spoof on xproject. it only appears when you come back from rest mode, because the original is still loaded into memory. however, I think it will still work without going into rest mode (just won't show it). no issues to report:

Hi Pinky. Is there anyway to sync trophies on a jailbroken ps4? You are a credible source of knowledge...
Im asking this because saw a few selling on Ebay and I think it is scam...

I know of no way of doing that. I think you have to be on the latest firmware to sync trophies.

Thanks! I assume it is just a scam so.

I asked some friends if they know what that ebay thing is all about. I know there's a way to use the same account on multiple ps4s (even works on ps5s) due to a bug with how account sharing works (can be use infinitely doing a certain process that's on twitter for both systems), so they may have to use your account to sign in to sync them, which I wouldn't trust at all.

edit: alright, my friend thinks you need a testkit to do what they're doing, so that may be the secret. retail systems can't.

I dumped 8 more themes last night. this time I used goldhen, so it was even easier. no messed up transfers, which has only happened a couple times in the past with a 0KB set of files for a theme. and, my method to dump official themes still works even without a license. that's 100% now with about 60 themes, and one of these was a last of us 2 theme. :D
