PKG Linker 2.0 - Serve Packages to your PS3 (HAN/CFW)

PS3 PKG Linker 2.0 - Serve Packages to your PS3 (HAN/CFW) v2.0

using PKG Linker on a Super Slim 4.82 Han. I'm doing this process with no internet on my computer or PS3, so a direct LAN connection with no internet sharing.

I can get everything to connect properly it seems, I ping the PS3, put the package list on the PS3, restart. When I go to download the PKGs it tells me I have to download a new feature. When I went further into HAN Tools and got the server list, I could download all the PKGs from there, but it refuses to download onto the PS3 itself. It will only download the files onto an external storage media device connected to the PS3. I don't understand what I'm doing wrong exactly.

So obviously my pc is connecting to my PS3 if I can download the PKGs, but why can I only download to a USB connected to my PS3?

Thats normal, when it says download a new feature just say yes, that is your pkg, its the way it work. and you see when you download them using the web browser it will only allow them to download to USB, you need to be clicking on the icons, the fact you can access them through there is good sign , it means your web server is serving them at least.

Ok thanks I will give that a try!

I seem to recall clicking yes and it not working. I think you need to be connected to the internet to go past that download page. My PS3 and PC wont be connected to the internet during that time

Once you have it set up correctly it definitely wont need internet. It is possible to set it up wrong so you do need internet to access the pkgs, if they are being served on wrong adaptor. make sure the IP address in PKG linker is your local IP, it will probably look like 192.168.x.xxx.

Is it me or the Install packages from webserver option on the XMB has a question mark instead of a star?
Edit: added a picture of what I'm talking about

So I'm using pkg linker v1.0 and the downloads start and then it just fails with an error . I can't get a working link to v2.0 and I don't know why it keeps failing . Using a router and connected via cable

@pink1
I also wonder why that is, cause linker v1 haven't had this problem

anyways, you can hexedit the exe and insert the star manually. just search in exe hex value:
Code:
3F00200049
and replace it with:
Code:
0526200049

Yeah, that happened because the template format used could not handle the character and it got lost, we never got around to fixing it.

It can just be added to the package list pkg in the xml.

Thanks! I tried that but I couldn't get to fix it, I'll try this later today. I already tried editing the XML but it gets overwritten every time I make a new package.

Update: It worked, thanks!

Sounds like a signing error Make sure you are enabling the correct option to match your pkg signing. Enable HAN for resigned pkgs, enable debug pkgs for non resigned pkgs.

Hello guys, I have 80710092 error on pkg linker, I have all the things configurated (firewall disabled, bla bla) and it still gives me that error.

So I'm on REBUG 4.84.1 REX CFW and I followed the tutorial for generating a Package_List.pkg for CFW instead of HAN. I then copied that pkg over to my PS3 and installed it via Package Manager however after a reboot I see no new options under Package Manager nor do I see any new app installed to talk to the server. Did I miss something? Thanks!

PKG Linker is mostly for OFW. I dont think there is any support for packages on a webserver in CFW by default. If you install HAN Toolbox it should allow you to see them through its menu.
