Hey there!
I recently got an old PS3 Slim from the dumpster. I obviously don't play with it 24/7. The architecture of the Cell/BE processor is ideal for parallel computing.
Unfortunately, as some of you may know, Sony retired "Life with Playstation back in 2012", which also killed the Folding@home client.
The folding@home client is closed source as to keep the scientific integrity of the project, but if I am able to demonstrate that GROMACS (the thing that does the molecular simulation) works on the PS3, I may be able to get them to compile it for the PS3/get access to the source code.
However, I have never done homebrew before. Are there good tutorials I can follow?
Do you think I can easily port GROMACS to the PS3?
