Hello everyone,
yesterday i got a CECHA12 PS3 for that sweet PS2 BC. I live in Europe though, so i knew beforehand i had to switch up a few settings to get that unit working properly here, since A models were never sold here.
I changed the consoles region from Hongkong to Europe in the DEX debug settings (for 50Hz compatibility) and changed the DVD and BluRay region code settings with WebMan Mod to Europe as well.
For BluRays and PS2 games from disc that worked perfectly but DVDs still won't run.
I can start them in the XMB and it tries to play them. But after seeing the play symbol in the bottom left corner for half a second it will complain that the Region Code of the DVD is incorrect.
As i know that on PC optical drives itself also have a region code in them (that you change 5 times) i put the BluRay drive from my CECHC04 into the A unit, remarried the drive and tried again. Still no luck.
As a last idea i checked if the values in the xregistry file are correctly set but they totally are (both set to 2).
I'm kinda out of ideas here. Did i miss something important? Maybe the CFW or Cobra people can enlighten me here. Thanks already for the help.
My system is on Evilnat PEX 4.90 btw.
(You wouldn't believe in what condition the unit was when i got it. It looked like it had been run over by a car. A lot of the outer shell was broken or currently breaking. The motherboard was fine thankfully. It was never opened and only has 37 days of runtime)
