PS3 Project RSX Boost: Overclock your Retail PS3 RSX Speeds (ps3 cfw only)

Crysis, GOW Ascension, Assassin's Creed: Black Flag, Metal Gear Rising.

The problem with OC is you can brick ps3 just by 1 step increase. Everyting is fine, you decide to increase +50 for gpu or +25 for ram and after this you can't restore firmware without special stuff
To see if artifacts occur try need for speed shift 2 unleashed to me it seems like it's the only enemy hahahaha all my other games don't artifact but shift 2 unleashed does the most.

Hey there, I kinda messed up. I went a bit too high on my cech-2004 and now it has a GLOD, no video no controller sync nothing. Is there a way to revert my ps3 back to working condition? I have a e3 flasher if that helps.

If you have the e3 flasher you should have waaaay more hope. What OC did you use that caused your brick?

@Mystix
try booting without hdd first, and if you are lucky you still get the no hdd message. if so, you maybe have a chance to reflash safe CFW in Recovery (can take several tries)

if you still cannot get it done, your only way to fix is using flasher and take NOR backup and replace lv1 in backup

Seeing the progress of the project in these publications, why don't you create a specific page, showing the progress of this project, then there would be this forum for testing, and the official page to post concrete progress, so that we can grow this project, which is still a bit buried. In my opinion, this is my suggestion.

GTA IV is CPU bottlenecked, it's well known. Do not expect miracles in such games.
GoW Ascension can hit 60 FPS (≠ is always at 60fps stable) with high clocks. Nuance.
Even with the basic OC of 600/750 you can notice a difference in many games.
Just don't have irrational expectations.

We should make a list of games that actually benefit the most from this overclocked

yup GTA 4 will never run good on PS3, OC was the last hope and its sucks on this game, I'm still hoping Rockstar will port the game to PS4/5 at some point just like they did with RDR1

We need a cpu overclock right now so badly. That's what's holding us back. Cpu is such a problem.

But it is possible to overclock the CPU, has anyone ever tried?
I think one console was used for testing OC of the CPU, but it may not have worked correctly. Iirc, it's part of the syscon firmware, not in a normal, system update. The rsx speed can be overriden by values in lv1, which is in a firmware update. The CPU can't from my understanding.

Yes it's been done before. But the method of how I'm not sure or remember.

Wonder if there's a work around these genius's can find. People in the cfw scene are very talented.

They have the syscon keys, but whether you can flash the syscon without soldering or something, I don't know. The problem is most of the devs who could do more research on this have left the scene. I don't really expect many, if any, giant breakthroughs in the PS3 scene anymore.

thats actually heart breaking I didn't know that. Who Is still with us that are likely to find a way?

Hi, Mitsu!
Could you do versions:

Big thanks!
Sorry to have kept you waiting.

Interesting, I will try it.

Any news ? I also have a bricked 2004 unfortunately.
The fact that you possess a hardware flasher is reassuring.

I have a PS3 version 2511A, I would like to know which overclocking versions I would be good at? If anyone has the links for me to download and test, I would really appreciate it, I'm currently on the 600/750

It should handle at least 700/900 without issues but proceed with caution (small increments, prolonged tests on heavy games like Crysis, Metal Gear Rising Revengeance, GoW, GT6, The Last of Us, etc...).

As for the files, you will probably find your happiness here :
