I made a version with, 700Mhz and 850Mhz
I have a Frankenstein 40nm CECHA00 and the temperature is about 44-52 RSX Uncharted 3 degrees for me. Fan speed 30% I haven't seen anything unusual the PS3 is running well and don't seem to be causing any problems for me.Cell is at maximum to 64 degrees Celsius Uncharted 3Is it working good? I mean no artifacts and other issues? how about the temps?

I'm sorry, I'm just in vocational school and I'll be home in 3 hours. I also translated some things into German in my version and made the Coldboot sound from the ps3 fat.i would like to test it, please, send me via PM

It's also the 4.91 Beta 4 Evilnat Pex
Oh, I didn't know. I didn't want to make one too high in case it were unstable.@Charles_n_town Thanks for the information! Unfortunately I don't have a HW flasher so trying this on my Slim would be quite dangerous.
We already have a 600/750 version and now we're "negotiating" to get some other versions as well
When Evilnat finishes building his 4.91 CFW with fixes, I will contact him and ask if he can make a higher OC version. He has been a great guy and already made a few custom CFWs for me with minor changes so I believe he will help. G.O.A.T.!
All good bro and kudos for the effort!Oh, I didn't know. I didn't want to make one too high in case it were unstable.
Could you share screenshot of ps3 with such freqs? oOI have a Frankenstein 40nm CECHA00 and the temperature is about 44-52 RSX Uncharted 3 degrees for me. Would lv1.self be enough for you?Ah, i don't care, i'll change the whole firmware anyways, i just need the CoreOS.

I may make some of you angry now... But in light of recent events and wanting to overclock my PS further, I slightly "frankensteined" it.
I regularly clean it and it was repasted not too long ago(MX-6).
I have the fan profile set to min. 35% and max. temp to 65°C.
I'm also using Evilnat's OC CFW (600 core, 750 mem)
In some more demanding games (GTA IV, NFS Carbon, GTA V, TLOU, GT6 etc.) the fan would still ramp up to about 42-43% to hold the 65°C treshold.
Sooooo... I did this:

(yes, that's also a laptop cooling pad)
The fan is connected to an outside 12V1A power adapter so other than cutting through the top mask, nothing has been done to the PS.
XMB before:
XMB after:
- 60°C CPU
- 62°C RSX
I have also tested GTA IV. Before the mod, the fan would go up to 41-42% to hold the 65°C treshold and now:
- 50°C CPU
- 52°C RSX
View attachment 42762
While keeping the fan still at 35%, the max. temp on the RSX is now 6°C lower.
Comparing apples-to-apples and setting the fan speed manually to 40% the difference is even bigger:

In conclusion, by adding a secondary fan to the PS3 spinning at around 1000 RPM (you can barely hear it), I have achieved a lowering of temperatures by more than 10°C, both on CPU and RSX.
I think that's a great improvement, it will improve the longevity of it and I think the PS just looks really cool like this!
Sorry if this hurts your eyes and for the long post. Here's a potato.

Not angry, but a bit scared
This sort of mods disrupts the airflow and as you get cooler temps on CPU/GPU, other components may not be cooled as expected.
So does it really improve PS3's longevity ? Probably the opposite, in fact.
(Thanks for the potato btw)
GTA IV being CPU limited as usualI may make some of you angry now... But in light of recent events and wanting to overclock my PS further, I slightly "frankensteined" it.

I got the same results in NFSC and TLOU, around a 10°C difference.GTA IV being CPU limited as usual
tbh, I do not like to upload whole MFW's and especially not based on CFW's, due to respect of devs behind it. besides, I cannot test myself CEX or DEX, cause I have "slaughtered" my CECHL for some parts for my 1400A and it is not my way of releasing untested (potentially dangerous) stuff.provide us the PUPs?
