PS3 Project RSX Boost: Overclock your Retail PS3 RSX Speeds (ps3 cfw only)

700/100 please, it seems that 750/1000 is working on my system no problem, same issues as 750/750 with Crysis and AC4 Black Flag, other games are fine :D

Oh i didn't see we already have 750/1000!

Nice, we already know that 1000 works without any problems, so we can build 900, 950 and 1000 core with variants up to 1000 memory

@Thimblewad. @cha0shacker, @Mitsu™ can you dump ur lv1 memory, so we can see which RSX revision we are using and try to understand the limit of each rsx revision.

Will update in the following hours

Artifacting but stable:
Crysis
AC4

Slightly artifacting:
Bioshock Infinite

Perfectly working games:
NFSC
COJ:Gunslinger
TLOU
FUEL

@LuanTeles tell me how to do it and you'll get the files :D

@Thimblewad test now please the 800MHz, we just need to gather more info about what is the max clock before a crash happens on each rsx revision.

You can use the option in CFW tools > dump options > LV1 Dump , or something like that (send me the file via DM, it has your IDPS)

rsx rev1 crashes in-game for my friend after 700, i'll document that

Which revision and which bin? The 90nm RSX had different bin levels.

So we should assume that probably 975/1000Mhz is safe too.

@cha0shacker can you cook 750/1000 and 800/1000 please.
I already created every CFW i can with the tools i have. Highest end one IIRC is 800/1000

It makes sense btw that the memory OCs like nothing else. The traces are extremely short and it's on the same subtrate as the RSX.
And given the biggest bottleneck was often memory bandwidth that's a really good find.

Seems i was mistaken then. I do have 800-750 but not anyhing higher than 750 for higher memory. The OG patch files i used were from our favorite MFW builder author. So he would need to make some more.

If I'll remember it tomorrow i will do a dump.
And remember that there will be variations even within the same revision.

I would need the 700/1000 file to check if 700 is really the limit for no artifacts.

@LuanTeles 800 core is artifacting AF, still no crash tho.

I would love to have one too. Especially since my core crashes above 700. Then i could at least test with you guys. Someone ping him for that and higher than 1000 memory patches.

And btw, how's performance with 1000 memory?

Sure, I'll do that (edit : Done !). Btw, I was testing MGS4 and at 700/750, this game still have huge frame drops (down to 18~20 fps sometimes). CPU limited game I guess.
Maybe a bit better than 600/750, I must compare.

Otherwise, I tried 750/800 and had crashes in MGS4 and Drakengard 3. I guess "750" is too much for my model.
I'll test other memory values.
Can @cha0shacker add some more 700/XXX variants to the folder please ? (700/800, 700/850, etc...) :nevreness:

I have updated the RSX task on my mfwbuilder mod git, so you have to patch on your own.

I have uploaded now patched 4.91 CFW lv1.self, with (safe) speed of 600MHz/750MHz

@cha0shacker see here

750/1000 on RDR gives better FPS, in some cases 4-5 FPS more than 750/750. There is minor artifacting (barely noticable) but no crash. Looking at intro town FPS went from 21 to 25+

700/950 should be the best we can get on most consoles, stable ofc :D

Yeap, that's why it i want to document the revisions of the RSX.

So 700Mhz core is the safe spot for all models

GTA IV 750/1000 in some areas is still the same sh*t, CPU limited game, but overall is a bit better.

GTA V 750/1000 seems to be 2-3 FPS faster than 750/750 when driving around, I guess memory clock helps a bit with loading textures but still CPU limited.

No artifacting in either game.

Have in mind that I have a 500 GB SSD which might help a bit with performance and loading times, but still the difference should be there even with an HDD

GOW Ascension

800/750:

Pretty much the same as 750/800, maybe the memory here makes a difference. (i'll try 750/1000 and compare)
