PS3 Project RSX Boost: Overclock your Retail PS3 RSX Speeds (ps3 cfw only)

So is it safe to test 850-950 on a 2501a?

I dont think so, @Tanzu15 is the only one that achieved this on a CECH-250xx

I forgot to post a working 850/1000 screenshot

Bro will using the official firmware work? And it gets to 100% when. I'm try and then just doesn't. Screen stays gray.

If you can install a fw, it doesnt matter if it will be CFW or OFW, only the lv1.self needs to be installed. Do not install any OFW because you''ll loose the jailbreak.

Install any stock CFW and you'll be good.

Does it matter? I just want to recover the PS3. Then I'll install cfw again. I'm stuck constantly at gettting to 100% and it doesn't restart. I have to force it off and then it picks up at installing Again and it loops.

Maybe you can install a PATCH.PUP.

It's a lighter update file and has the CoreOS in it.

If it doesn't work format your hdd or try with another one to not loose Ur games

I just went back to stock values to test a thing, DAMN It's almost unplayable after you get used to OC

The XMB, launch times, fps are just terrible, OC just make the life better haha

But as i can tell the OC in memory is better than in core, ofc as we are increasing it even more than the core

800/1000 is way better than 850/800 for example

GOW Ascention 800/1000 = 56FPS
GoW Ascention 850/800 = 52 FPS
Gow ascention 850/1000= 59-60 fps

Damn

I flashed the wrong firmware, i flashed 900/700 Mhz annnnnnnnnnnnd working WITHOU ANY issue

Gow ascention is now 52 fps, the same as 850/800

Yeap as confirmed, the memory plays a huge role too.

Gow ascention is now 52 fps, worse than 750/1000

I fixed it! I put a fan on the PS3 and kept trying and eventually I recovered it. I was almost bricked. 1000 memory is a no go. 950 is stable.

Nice to hear that, maybe your ps3 will handle more core but not memory.

Stay at 950 Memory max in any core speed.
Yeah you have no idea how scared and pissed I was. 1000 is cursed on 2010 slims. Man now I gotta ask. You think it would be wise to do 850?

That will never be possible with any PS3 slim ever.

My 2501a does this same 750/950 fully stable. My second 2501a does only 700/950 fully stable. My 3rd 2501a does 700/900 fully stable. So my data suggest slims from 2010, which are all my ps3s, do 700 core guaranteed and 900 for sure. 2009 slims not so much. Those had the 65nm chips. So honestly can't wait for us to have so much data that we know what speeds are 100% working on specific models. Honestly, only people with 2010 slims should be using 700/900 or higher, and 65nm PS3s should only be doing 650/800.

Based on what I'm seeing:

2501

bin core speed
bad 650 core
avg 700 core
good 750 core

bin memory speed
bad 900
avg 950
good 1000 (do not flash unless you have a hardware flasher)

if anyone wants to flash their PS3 2501, start by flashing 650-800 then try 700-800 then try 750/750 and if still stable try 800-900. likewise increase memory in steps of 50mhz from 800 to 850 to 900 and 950. Don't flash 1000 unless you have a hardware flasher backup.
