PS3 Project RSX Boost: Overclock your Retail PS3 RSX Speeds (ps3 cfw only)

Friendly reminder to you all, please do not post one message after the other. It makes difficult to follow the thread.

If you need to add more replies to your message, you can use the edit function.
How would I add quotes from the multi-quote function to a post after posting it? when you enter the edit, I don't see a button for inserting them. A new post yes, but not while editing.

EDIT: For example, right now I have save changes, more options, and cancel...but not add quotes. So if I want to add quotes I'd have to start a new post adding all the multiquotes to that, then copy them into clipboard, then edit the post, and paste it in.

It's obtuse and easier to start a separate post. It can also be hard to follow multi-quote post when someone responds to like 10 people at once. Making it hard to find the part where the responded to you.

Just my 2c. Not trying to say your moderation style is wrong. Mods discretion and all that. And OFC I'll try to remember to read all the new pages worth of new posts and add them to the multi-quote before responding one at a time, as has been my habbit.

IG it's easier to think and respond to one person at a time, per post, than it is to multiple people in one. Especially on mobile. Not that it's an excuse to be lazy.

You could multi-quote everything, apply it to the quick reply box, copy everything and paste it while editing your post.

Not point at you @RIP-Felix, or anyone in particular, in general it has become very difficult to mod this thread when people post one message after the other, without any sort of reference to the original post they are answering to.

It's just a friendly reminder to keep this humongous thread tidy.

You can pretty safely start at 600/750. M4jor and Proto did alot of testing to arrive at that OC, trying to fine one that was "safe" for all consoles. Now, that's mainly to be safe for 90nm consoles that can't, and arguably shouldn't be OC'd very high. A 65 or 40nm should easily handle 650 core.

Start with core increases of 50MHz at a time. At the first sign of instability, back off. Then start increasing VRAM. But be careful, I was 100% stable at 950MHz, then nearly couldnt recover from 975! It went from perfectly fine to nearlu fully bricked in 25MHz. The VRAM increases can give no warning.

You need to generate the lv1 after downloading MFW Builder. In the readme it explains. There is a nice batch file in the root directory you can run which will guide you through the creation process. Run it, type in the FW updates and it'll generate them automatically. I'd reccomend deleating your current installation and temporary folder, then DL'ing fresh from Haxxxen's github repo.
Hello, sorry. Which ps3 model were you testing the 975mhz VRAM in which your ps3 almost got bricked? Thanks

Can somebody provide me with a 900/975 mhz pex beta 9 cfw oc pls? Thanks in advance

teach a man how to fish, eh? first, make sure to add in the keys, which is very easy with the added bat. I don't know if that's still necessary or if the keys have already been added in the latest update. type in the firmware for the latest pex, which is 4.91 iirc. select your ps3keys folder in the little window on the right. now, select the pex version you want as the base pup, then have the created pup named whatever. disable both of the loader options. add the tarbell version you're using (i.e. 4.xx cex). select the lv1 oc version you want. then build.

Yeah is there but is in beta 8 still sadly, im looking for the beta 9 if someone have it. Im not confident in myself to make my own build :(. Curently i pushed my ps3 cech 2503c datacode 0D to 900/950 stable so i want to try a 900/975 build as my last attempt in pushing the RSX. Thanks anyways bro
Didn't see your request, sorry ^^'
I haven't been here in a while.

Beta 10 is coming, btw.

And I'm dropping this :
This game is a desperate case. Play it on Switch :y

Dawg you're playing with a brick at this point. If you get a near brick with 975 you'll need to cool it down while it enters recovery mode and lets you update to a stable pup again. Be careful. If you are fully stable at 900/950 you won't get much of a bump anymore. It will depend on the game. But it's not worth the risk If it's your only ps3 that does these clocks. 900 core is a great bin.

isn't than an RDR remastered for ps4 or something? if there's a digital version, you may be able to get the game for free. I know my friend said certain games he got for free on ps4 for owning the original on ps3, after they had been rereleased. granted, that was psx and ps2 classics mostly, but I remember buying the last of us 2 remastered, only to find out later that I could've used the original last of us 2, and paid $10 for the upgrade instead of $50 for a new version. that's one good thing about sony as opposed to nintendo. such things can be free or discounted instead of having to pay full price for a rerelease from last gen.

Yes, the same goes for GTA IV.

Fortunately, I still have my Xbox 360 copy.
This version works better ^^'

I have GTA IV for the ps3, the disc, but I'm thinking of getting the dlc with liberty stories. isn't that part of the three game collection though? I own that, but I just want all the dlc for my games. I'm not a big fan of gta, but sometimes it's fun not bothering with the story and going on a crime spree to blow off some steam after a hard day. lmao.

@RIP-Felix you cooked so hard with that Overclock video. What a masterpiece! Especially the part of where people store their consoles to avoid death. It's a waste. Enjoy your PS3s or consoles in general people. They are designed to be heavily enjoyed and all electronics meet their end eventually.

"Episodes from Liberty City" are included in the Complete Edition, so you probably have them.
