PS3 Project RSX Boost: Overclock your Retail PS3 RSX Speeds (ps3 cfw only)

The reason it does that is because the FW you have on one of your ROS banks is from a firmware that's newer than the last time PS3 dump Checker's hashlist was updated. You can add the hashlists back into it so that it will work. Ps3pychecker has been updated more recently with FW hashlists, so it found 490 and didn't return any dangers. As stated, it's fine.

uhh mate can i send my flash backup directly to you? can you check it for me because i cant understand about this

Guys i have some update from my bricked 2004a. 10min ago my friend (he knows how to use e3 flasher) called me and he said : the device has sound and input but no display. How can he fix this anyone knows about it?

Is assassin's Creed black flag a good game to test an overclock with? Because it's by far the only game that has ever taken my rsx to 65 degree and held it there for the rest of my game play session. It seems that it heavily relies on the rsx. I am running an overclock of 700/900 and the frame rate was almost always above 57 fps

@Nascar1243 had that while undervolting. It can happen when you go too high on core, or under volt too far. I'd try over volting if I were you. It might stabilize it enough to update back to a safe OC. Then you can revert the overvolt and put it back to stock.

Yes and no. Mostly no. This game is super cpu heavy.

Can a PS3 be recovered with the e3 flasher that went wrong with the overclock and now does not turn on? In reality it only has 600-750 that comes with evilnat 4.90, or could it be the nec-tokins?

That will be one of my next tests, for sure !

EDIT:

DS2 is the next.

EDIT2:
When i got interested in overclocking my ps3 it was mostly for Drakengard 3 because it runs horrible and even at 900/950 it still has insane fps drops. Very dissapointed that this game was poorly optimized because it has a nice story and OST worthly of a remake.

Another game you should test is Middle Earth Shadow of Mordor. That game runs terrible on the ps3.

Btw nice vids Mitsu

While I couldn't get Crysis, my 750/975 CECH2503A seems to have survived a round of NFS Most Wanted 2012. Quite some roaring of that fan tho. I'll test what's the limit of this slim later.

I would try going with the 2100 as the lowest. 2100s are quite similar to 2500s from what I remember.
Brother i also have 2503A Date Code OC so can i installed 750/975 OC cfw in my ps3 it is safe or risky?

Tell me if i should change something.
Yeah, you should improve the description of your videos.

Credit the people behind the project, include a link to the thread, as well as other useful/informative links. Remind that overclocking is not without risks (and not free performances) and one must be cautious. The videos themselves are good otherwise :)

Thanks ! :D

Yes, it's really a shame that this game is stuck on PS3 in this state. (I'm also a big fan of the DrakeNieR universe :) )

I'll note your suggestion :encouragement:

Edit :
New (and last on this game) GTA 4 video !

I have a 2503B and mine can't do 750 on the rsx. And some people have bricked their consoles after going over 925 VRAM so my advice is to first use an overclock of 650/800 and then start increasing the clock speed for the rsx by 50 mhz. When you start to see artifacting the. Stop and follow back the overclock for the rsx. For VRAM I suggest if your console can do 900 mhz just keep it there. For what I saw on rip-felix's video after 925 mhz there is a high possibility of bricking your console if you are not lucky.

Hello, como les va? I have known about this forum and overclocking on PS3 for a long time, which seems amazing to me, and I would like to help/contribute.

I currently have a slim 2501A August 2010
rsx40 a01 750/900 vpe:ff shd:3f [AP0021635:0:1:11:a:11:2:0:1][29:0:a:0:1:0:1][1:1:0]

The frequencies I am using:
Core: 750mhz
Vram: 900mhz

I used these frequencies for almost a month without any stability problems.
Regarding temperature, both in Cell and Rsx, in the menu it does not exceed 60°C and in most games with a fan between 33% and 45% they never exceed 63°C (I clarify that I do not use SYSCOM, which I use the cobra dynamic fan at 65°C)

The games I tried are CoD Black ops 2, Red Faction guerrilla, Gta v, Dirt 3 and Dark Soul
What games do you recommend to test the stability of the system?:encouragement:
