PS3 Project RSX Boost: Overclock your Retail PS3 RSX Speeds (ps3 cfw only)

I kinda don't feel comfortable doing it on my own. So far @Mitsu™ has always provided a firmware for me. I don't want to risk bricking my frankenstein FAT console with an unproperly modified firmware file.

speaking of which, sorry for the double-post, but where's the link for the 25 increment mfw builder mod?
I think you're talking about this version :

I was pretty much completely absent recently, I even closed my DMs temporarily. Sorry if I missed some requests :\

Any particular section that loads the RSX real bad? I'm trying to test the thermals and stability of an undervolted 90nm RSX.
The very beginning. Landing on the island after the battle on the ship. Running and swimming, fighting crabs along this shore for 20 minutes, warms up my FAT more than other games that I know of.

Hey everyone, long time no talk. Had to fix my ps3, I accidentally damaged the button ribbon cable and the Blu-ray drive cable.

May I please have 750/950 with the latest Evilnat update? Last time I was here it was B10 lol!

I doing 900/975 stable for long time across many games like :

Crysis HD - shift 2 - metal gear rising - GOW Ascension - GTA 4

but there only one game so far that keep freezing on me which is: Spider man shattered dimension

that's so weird, I try both digital and physical copy but both the same I can't get pass the first 10m

So I lower my OC to 850/975 and test again, this time it lets me play more but still freezing after like 15m

Can someone please test this game and see if your OC can handle it.

That sounds like a temperature issue. Lower clocks mean it takes longer to heat up

I don't think so, Im still doing tests at the moment,

So I found out it's actually the VRAM clock that causes the freezing and not the RSX, because I try lowering it to 750/975 and still freezing. So I try 900/950 and it actually let me play the game normally for about 30m and freeze again lol.

Next I'll try 850/925 because I don't have 900/925

So basically spider man shattered dimension is a very good test game from the VRAM OC

BTW my temps numbers are pretty good because Im running fan speed at %75. My temps don't go above 57 c

Currently running a 600/750 OC on my 2501B slim and was wondering what a "safe" higher OC would be? It has 500 days playtime and temps are CPU ~59c / GPU ~64c at 35% fan speed while playing GOW Ascension. Using 4.91 beta 14 CEX OC.

@Mitsu™ may know. I've never used an oc system to know myself, but I think Mitsu has kept a log of what works with which system sku.

This PS3 model should handle 700/850-900MHz (700/850 are my favorite frequencies) without issues. It's a safe balance for this model before hitting diminishing returns. We haven't encountered a single 25xx series experiencing problems at these frequencies so far. However, if you're determined to push beyond this, I recommend keeping an e3Flasher on hand and being mindful of the diminishing returns.
The most significant performance gains are achieved up to 700MHz for the core and between 800 and 900MHz for VRAM. Beyond these points, the performance improvements diminish, while the risks of hardware degradation still increase progressively.
