PS3 Project RSX Boost: Overclock your Retail PS3 RSX Speeds (ps3 cfw only)

it says cex due to tarbells, but it's pex. it's not the latest beta, but the latest full version of 4.91.2, which I assume is what you meant.[/QUOTE]

Yeah my bad sir:(...... But anyway thank you sir, you are kind.

Did you give up on using 900/1000?

Yes, I gave up, I did lots and lots of tests with 900/1000 at the time when I was seeing how far my PS3 could go, until I realized that in Crysis (and some other games) it always froze randomly, from then on, I started lowering the frequency, I stabilized at 850/975, and since then there have not been any problems.

I hope it works for you. I wasn't going to say anything before, but my mfw builder was stuck on it being enabled for nobd. I've fixed it, but I don't know if anyone encountered an issue with iso's for my oc builds. I found it out a while back, but I don't know if any got through the cracks. it won't hurt you, just need to reinstall a firmware if that happened, so let me know.

I'm glad you mentioned this, earlier today when I went to play, I really had problems running some games and applications, sometimes they gave me an infinite black screen. I believe it must be this NOBD that you provided me, as my PS3 has no defects, but thanks for letting me know, friend, and when you can, help me with the correct 850/975, please! Gratitude.

noBD CFW doesn't support loading ISO games as it's intended only to cirumvent the broken/missing BD drive check during FW update.

Only PKG games will run on noBD CFW (I'm not sure about JB folder games).

Ok, 800/900 boots, I think I'll stop here, I've yet to try gaming with these clocks to see if it's stable. At least I can scale it down if needed. This should smooth out most frame drops from the main titles that have at least decent optimization

Immediate artifacting in Uncharted 2. 750/900 seems stable even when reaching 78 degrees. Do you guys have suggestions for games that really push the console hard ?

Afaik, one of the most taxing games is the last of us. Others, I'm not sure.

I don't have the game with me ATM but will try for sure.

When booting up Motorstorm, I had a crash with big artifacts all over the screen. Would that be more core or VRAM related ?

Back down at 750/850, no problem for now.

To summarize:

800/900 --> Artifacts in Uncharted 2 and even in XMB after the console heated up

750/900 --> Was all good even in UC2 at 78°C on the GPU. Random crash with big artifacts when booting up Motorstorm, right after I opened the game.

750/850 --> Wait and see.

Any suggestions ? I feel like the sudden unexpected crashes are more due to VRAM, Core gives warning signs such as artifacting from what I've read

Of that, I'm not sure. I've never used an oc firmware, but one thing seems certain, how much a console can tolerate seems to vary not only with SKU but also between console to console.
