PS3 PS2 discs and iso's black screen

I recently purchased a CECHA01 model PS3, and everything seems to be functioning properly. However, the console is unable to play PS2 discs or ISOs. What's odd is that PS2 classics run perfectly fine; I've tested a couple of games, and they work perfectly. Whenever I attempt to boot from a disc or ISO, I encounter a black screen, the controller fails to connect, and the system freezes, requiring a reset. I'm currently running 4.91 Evilnat with Cobra CFW, and I'm unsure if the firmware could be the cause of this issue. It's worth noting that I acquired the console with this custom firmware already installed. Maybe someone had this issue and managed to fix it somehow ?
 
WOW it fixed the issue, thank you so much for the help. I downloaded Rebug 4.84.2 and now it works flawlessly playing from disk. No more black screens :)

It seems that you installed the first version of CFW 4.91 Evilnat released on March 9th.

This is the MD5 of the PEX PUP that fixes the black screen error using PS2 discs on backward compatible PS3 models:

please help me, ps2 games don't work for me, it reaches Playstation 2 and throws it into xmb, I downgraded the firmware, it doesn't help
