PS2 PS2 Fat Ejection Problem

Hello, I've been trying to fix up my PS2 Fat and I'm having an issue I can't seem to find anything helpful on anywhere. I had to replace the power, clock battery , a few ribbon cables, and the spindle motor. Now I can't get it to read disks because it keeps ejecting. It opens fine and the laser is the original and moves smoothly on the rails. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds to me like damaged disc drive ribbon.

Are you sure that you put the tray in right position?
From below of the tray there is flute\crack that shout fit into the plastic arm:


Additionally for the test you can take out spindle magnet:



Put it on a DVD-Disc and on then on a spindle motor to test if everything is ok with the laser:
