PS2 PS2 Repair and diagnostic questions

Hello,

I recently acquired a coulple of defective PS2 Slim to repair and perform the micro SD mod on those that have the IDE interface. Some where fixed with a good cleaning but some behaviors leave me puzzled. I looked online but couldn't find much aside from laser replacement. So here's a few questions for those with more experience.

1- Is there some diagnostic tools such as the syscon on the PS3? The mechacon on the slim seems to do something similar but it seems to mostly give data about the disk drive and even then there is little information about it except some function names and code. There is PMAP, but apparently it does not work on slim consoles.

2-
Model: SCPH-70011
Board revision: GH-035-21
Issue: It read disks just fine, but if I power off the console, I just get a blackscreen on boot. The drive will spin, the fan will spin and a video signal is sent but it's just a blackscreen.

3-
Model: SCPH-75001 and SCPH-70011
Issue: They take over 10 seconds to correctly detect the DVD and boot it regardless of if I place a drive that reads in 5 seconds in another unit.

4-
Model: SCPH-75001
Issue: The console seems to drive the laser unit toward the front continueously even after the laser has reached its maximum frontward position. It does not seem to detect the position of the laser correctly? It does that regardless of the drive I put in it and I think it might have damaged the motor of its drive a little bit.

Thanks to anyone with some information.
