Ps2 Opl HDD black screen after changed the theme

Good morning, i got a fat ps2 with freehdboot 0.9.3. I've installated a theme and for 2 minutes it work s well, then the wallpapers and covers of the games become black. Then i restarted the ps2 and after the freemcboot logo the ps2 go on black screen and after many minutes it go on the screen of memory card. I ve also updated the version of freehdboot at 0.9.6 with hddrawcopy and restored sectors with winhip, but nothing happened. Luckely i ve a memory card with freemcboot, and going in opl it read the games, and it works well, but covers themes and wallpapers not appears. Also with my memory card i m went in ulaunchelf going in hdd folder, then +opl and inside everything is gone! There is nothing! I tried also to copy a file inside the folder but it give me failed. Thank's for support!

There is not such a thing as freehdboot 0.9.3. or 0.9.6.
FMCB can be e.g. 1.966: https://www.psx-place.com/resources/free-memory-card-boot-fmcb-free-harddisk-drive-boot-fhdb.712/.

There is OPL 0.9.3, but I never seen 0.9.6.
Currently latest OPL is 1562:

You are using internal HDD or USB HDD?

Covers for games should be in "hdd0:/+OPL/ART" for iHDD,
or in mass:/ART for USB HDD.

Themes in "hdd0:/+OPL/THM", mass:/THM.

If you do not have any files there... nothing will be shown in OPL.


If you write new image with hddrawcopy all old content on HDD will be lost.

Yes, i got the last version, 1.966. I got HDD and not USB HDD. Before instal the theme +opl got every folder and art there was ART folder (covers and wallpapers was working great). I insert propertly the theme, cause also for many minutes it work.

Yes the version was 1.966. I got HDD and not USB HDD. I ve insert propertly ART folder with covers and wallpapers in +opl folder cause before instal the theme they works greats. And also the theme was putted in +opl folder, and for many minutes worked. But i saw that i use hddrawcopy replace every folder without +opl folder!

The theme was called thm_09clean 2 or similar.

and i ve downloaded it from here

I don't want format the HDD, for losing my games!

Then try to delete OPL partition and install OPL again :

- Create partition called +OPL with 4096MO size

- Put OPL to HDD : hdd0:/_sysconf/FMCB/

- Edit FMCB_CFG.elf to configurate your new OPL

How i can do it? I remember you buddy that i want delete the games if possible!

Nono i dont want...but i saw that with opl with memory card sometimes it see the theme, so i think the files are yet into the folder, so i think that folder is locked or similar, and the files are there

I didn't understand everything but i think the best way is to format your HDD.

That is why you'll restart on a sound basis..

As i said, you can also delete the OPL partition and recreate it.

If you are afraid of loosing your games, you can launch OPL from a memory card too..

I set 20 gb but nothing changed lol i think to format +opl folder

According to your screen, removing OPL partition will not delete your games..

You have to delete from HDDManager, i don't know how, i saw something with rename the partition +video but i don't know.
 
Games are stored in a different partitions (e.g. PP.Name of the game).
+OPL partition is for all the settings (network, global...), covers, themes... for OPL.

If you will delete this partition only all your config for OPL will be lost,
but all installed games will not be touched.

Do you have any folders in +OPL partition (ART, CFG, THM...)?
OPL should make them automatically after launching this app for the first time.

Can you use wLaunchELF 41e4ebe from 14\01\2019:

instead of uLe 4.42d to copy covers into +OPL/ART.
 
I,ve deleted opl partition, then recreated with 4096 mb of memory, i saved but i've the same problem. I don't remember a think, i've fhdb, its normal that before the black screen i've the freemcboot logo?

Ok with ulaunchelf i saw the art, thm etc folders are came back into the opl folder, bit i continue to have the black screen

Then the problem is after the freemcboot logo at startup i got black screen for many minutes, then it go on the grey memory card menu

Ok finally i solved! I flashed the 1.93 version with hddrawcopy and it works! But when i flash the 1.996 it give me the black screen. Why?!?
