PS2 Ps2 Setup Questions

Hello everyone!,

I have a few questions regarding my PS2 and the setup I have currently. I'm a little new to this:

I recently bought a Ps2 3000 model, put freemcboot in using a memory card(not installed on hdd), and I used WinHiip to transfer my iso backups to my sata drive ssd. For the expansion bay, I used the OG expansion bay and converted it to support sata ssd drives.

I would like to have a more updated setup where I can install freemcboot onto the hdd and use a more updated version to transfer ps2 games to hdd since WinHIIP is obsolete. Could anyone can direct me to the right links to achieve this? It would be very much appreciated.

Also, Is there a safe way to remove the sata drive from the ps2 and retransfer my iso backups back to PC using WinHIIP? If so, please let me know. I tried doing it once and WinHIIP couldn't recognize my sata ssd.

I would also like to have the option to add more of my ps2 iso backups in the future after I set up my ps2. Is it possible? If so, how does one do it? Could I achieve this using FTP? Can I achieve this with the current setup I have?

PFS-BatchKit-Manager
HDL Batch Installer
PS2HDH

Any one or combination of the tools above will achieve your desired results.
Winhiip is outdated and not considered a usable tool for this job anymore.

Such model not exist.

Do not use WinHIIP, instead eg. HDL Batch Installer or PFS BatchKit Manager. Or wait for PS2HDH official release to set APA-Jail and eg. install FHDB.

Run FMCB/FHDB Installer v1.966 from USB (FAT32 on MBR) and install it.

Possibile.
No.

Thank you for the help! So, to be clear and not mess up, I can either use PFS-BatchKit-Manager or
HDL Batch Installer to transfer my ps2 backups correct? So, if I remove the sata ssd from the ps2 and connect it to my pc and use either PFS-BatchKit-Manager or HDL Batch Installer, I can see my iso backups and transfer properly, correct?

I see. Just to make things clear, it is possible to install FMCB/FHDB into hdd using a usb correct?

Yeah, both managers will work. But HDL Batch Installer last time i used was a bit buggy. So i use PFS-BatchKit-Manager, super simple, latest versions doesn't mess up timestamps for folders in +OPL partition so i used 1.15 version at that time, now i use 1.19 which seems fine.

You need to start fresh since you used outdated software. Dump games from PS2 HDD to PC, reformat HDD using ulaunch filemanager using PS2, and finally populate fresh HDD with games using PFS batchkit manager.

That's how it is intended to use. But can be done on PC too. Just alternative, especially if i.e in case when APA/APAJ broke and you have no any way to run homebrew. Then you can still exploit it on PC, putting goodies on HDD by magic software.
