PS2SPLASH

PS2 PS2SPLASH 1.01

PS2SPLASH is an OSDSYS/dev1 launcher based on HWC's OSDSYS launcher.

PS2SPLASH will show a custom splash image (PNG file) before it launches FMCB or mc?:/BOOT/BOOT2.ELF. This will give you a little customization to your PS2 Console.

Splash image must be named ps2splash.png and placed in mc?:. Its dimensions must not exceed 640x512 for PAL consoles and 640x448 for NTSC consoles. It is recommended your splash image has either transparent or black background.

If no ps2splash.png file is placed in mc?:, PS2SPLASH will behave like HWC's OSDSYS launcher. You can follow installation instructions for HWC's OSDSYS launcher to install PS2SPLASH. https://www.psx-place.com/threads/hwcs-osdsys-launcher.30258/

Hello, this looks interesting, but i have some questions....
Should i replace the hwc launcher to install? or should i replace the boot Elf on FMCB boot folder?

Does it work in any bios?

Is there any possibility that this application works without using FMCB but adding a cnf file for exit path to another elf like opl?

i have a ps2 90001 with chip matrix and bios 1,40
Thank you so much

This OSDSYS loader should be installed in the same way HWC's one. So, if you are using it, just replace it by PS2SPLASH. On the contrary, please follow HWC's installation guide https://www.psx-place.com/threads/hwcs-osdsys-launcher.30258/.

Well, PS2SPLASH has been tested on BIOS v2.30, which are the ones that really matter. Recheck your BIOS version launching uLE->MISC->Debug Info

hey i've downloaded ps2splash and replaced boot.elf in mc??:/boot and not only is the splash not appearing (it's 640x512), uLE can't boot. what should i do

File must be named ps2splash.png and placed in root of either MC0 or MC1.

Is there any chance to set a different path for ps2splash.png?
I mean when you put any file in the root of any memory in PS2 Browser you will see the corrupted data:
fawf4ysowwc01.jpg

There is no way to add an icon for a single file, only for a folder.

What about mc?:/BOOT/ps2splash.png path?
All FMCB users have this folder. Most of users with modchip also should have it.
Additionally if someone has this folder but without an icon, the icon from FMCB can be used:
boot.png[img]

Good idea and more good

What is your problem with?
Which step is unclear?
I have replased BOOT.elf as the instructions said ,I installed FMCB and after that LAUNCH.elf didn't work.I managed to fix that so it can load from mass. After that I placed the ps2splash.png inside the MC0. And if I understood correctly when I see the FMCB logo , I should press SELECT. But nothing seems to happen

So you have ps2splash.png in 640x512 resolution for PAL or 640x448 for NTSC consoles in:
mc0:/ or mc1:/.

You downloaded and extracted BOOT.7z.
Inside there is BOOT.ELF
Once you launch it e.g. through wLaunchELF it should shown your ps2splash.png.

First of all you should learn, that the PS2 is sensitive to small and big letters......... elf vs. ELF, etc.

ALWAYS use the correct names, even in comments in the forum.

That's exactly what I 've done and still boots FMCB logo. I don't know what Im' doing wrong

Hmm. I have the same problem...
I mean PS2SPLASH (BOOT.ELF) does not open ps2splash.png.
I copied ps2splash.png into the root of my MC ("mc0:/ps2splash.png") and in BOOT folder ("mc0:/BOOT/ps2splash.png").
Only the FMCB logo appears...
If someone else wants to test it, I have uploaded 2 ([640x448] & [640x512]) graphics (one for NTSC, one for a PAL console),
just rename it e.g. from ps2splash_PAL.png to ps2splash.png.

You probably have the fat model as I do. The problem maybe comes from the fact that it was only tested on slim models

I have tried it with SCPH-50004 which has ROMVER 1.90
and with SCPH-75004 which has ROMVER 2.20.
Both of the consoles are from PAL region and on both of them I have FMCB 1.966.
