Hi everyone, I'm getting error with blue screen that settings information is corrupted press x to repair and laggs, I have tried formatting hdd also tried installing ofw nothing working please help.(while installing update via safe mode it won't restart on it's own; stuck at black screen and I restarts and when it boots up I choose region time while scanning wifi it gives error if I press o and cancel it ps3 logo came and same blue screen again.) Thanks and regards.

If it's losing time, then it sounds like issue with bios battery. That would store settings. Other issues may point to a hard drive issue.
If you have another hard drive to test, that might diagnose the issue. If the battery can be replaced, even better. If neither of those two fix the issue, since you've removed software as the issue by installing ofw, which points to something that requires a multimeter to diagnose.

Thanks bro, I'll try both methods. Thanks for the help. :)

im having the same issue, when i try to update via safe mode after loading i get black screen, and controller light also goes off when i restart ps3 it gets updates but when i reach at ps3 logo same error comes and im unable to access ps3 after its boot logo and cant able to successfully update on its on. earlier while updating it restarts automatically but after installing it get black screen, does anyone find solution please help. thank you!

Got the same issue. I've tried to replace the network IC and the WIFI/BT module but nothing seems to work. Check with a multimeter for continuity and, it is, near to wifi/bt module a capacitor who seem to be shorted. I've replaced with a new one just to be shure and nope, still the same. So I am starting to feel that it is an south bridge chip problem, somewhere inside its causing that we can not succesfully update our system. Hope someone here give us another advice to recover our ps3, cause ive already run out of options. :(

Has anyone found solution yet? Is there anyway. Is there any custom firmware which could help to bypass it or something? Thanks.

Its about communication between south bridge chip and ethernet card some bad capacitor or resistor must find it with a multimeter and change them.
