PS3 CECH-2501A (160GB GHOSTS BUNDLE) for CFW??

I have not turned this thing on since like 2013-2014 (cant remember exactly but its been years)

I would like to be able to use this system for PS1/PS2 homebrew and not sure where to begin.

How can I be certain (aside from turning off my modem) that the system wont get patched??

don't put psn plus on it and don't enable auto-update which is psn plus only feature on ps3.that's the only way ps3 will auto-update itself.

First tell us what firmware the system is on. Then run minverchk on it and report back. From there you can see what version of ps3xploit you can use.

Not all 2500 Series are CFW Compatible, if your datacode its above 1A, then option for CFW are very slim, but make sure its on 4.82 minimum, and if you have too update it via Mass Storage, not via Internet, as it will update it straight to 4.83, and run MinVerChk to make sure your PS3 its 3.56 Compatible.

One small correction, how your bundle can be a GHOSTS bundle, since GHOSTS came out in 2013, thats CECH-4000 Series, and GHOSTS never had a PS3 bundle as far as i am aware, maybe BLACK OPS, if so thats 2010, since its the same year as the 2500 Series came out.

I am sorry just looked at the box again and the bundle is 160GB CALL OF DUTY BLACK OPS (yes black ops original one)

Bottom of box says it's CECH-2501A and I cant confirm what firmware its on yet as I lost the power cable for its years ago!
