PS3 PS3 CFW can I use internet or not?

Hello I recently got a PS3 with CFW, I'm wondering if I can still enable the internet on it?
I'm not talking about logging in to PSN or playing games online, just about going online in general. Thank you

Almost every game I play says there is a new version (e.g. 1.10) and it needs to download it and blabla. Should I be doing that or not?

I'd recommend having your games up to date, as they are patches for the game which can fix bugs and the like. You don't have to though, and can just out of the update and play the game as it shipped. A lot if not most games' updates are relatively small, so you're not looking at massive download and install times for the most part.

Thanks. I only have 80gb drive and I play all games from disc, will it only download the patch or do I have to install the entire game on the drive for it?
