PS3 Ps3 data corruption. Need help to start

Saw on thread that if I restore file system I would get some storage free on my hdd. I did that from recovery mode and at 41% it asked me to format my hdd. I have 70 games it would take time to install them again is there any way to start it without formatting it says that my files are corrupted.

If your console is CFW capable (this will not work for HEN), there is one chance to recover your data. You must use another HDD in order to get to XMB, install CFW and dump the ERK (a unique per console key used to encrypt/decrypt the HDD).

Once you got the ERK, you must follow @Berion's tutorials:
  1. Ultimate userdata backup guide
  2. Dumping The EID Root Key
  3. HDD mounting and decryption on Linux
It's not easy but it's worth the try to save your data.

I just upgraded my hard drive and had to use above method. Regular ps3 backup utility wasn't working nor file transfer from file manager. Not sure if was bad sector or from converting usb from ntsc to fat-32 in dos improperly. But once I used erk/pc it worked fine.
