PS3 PS3 dead or..?

Hi, so I have a fat 40 gb PS3 with a CFW installed on it.
I've got it second hand (it was barely used though) and put the CFW myself, and it's been working fine for the last half a year or so.
But just today I sat down to play Darkness, then randomly the screen froze, covered with artifacts and the system wouldn't response (although audio still played normally).

It happened before and usually worked fine after resetting, but now it just won't output any signal to TV - neither with HDMI or Component cables.

I don't think it's YLOD as the light indicator doesn't beep or flashing, it just stays turned on, but no signal and controller can't seem to connect either.
Tried hard-resetting and entering recovery mode (2 beeps), but no luck. But it does respond to power button presses normally.

Any known fix for this or it's pretty much dead (upon googling I came across this GLOD issue which I've never heard of before - but the system itself doesn't shut off, just no signal)?
P.S: I did install a new HDD on it if that makes a difference, but as mentioned, it worked ok all this time

When screen freezes, do you see HDD indicator blinking? Do you get screen after removing the HDD?

What were your CPU & RSX Temps before the problem started?

Last times it was blinking but after rebooting it worked normally. This time it didn't blink, just straight out no signal. Haven't tried removing the hdd yet - wanted to consult someone before making any actions whatsoever. And I didn't use temp-measuring utilities before, but it was never noisy and I kept it in good clean order in open space.
UPD: tried without the HDD - nothing still

RSX is dying. No fix for that other than reballing a known working chip in its place
That's what I feared. Not even sure if it's worth trying in this day and age or just to get a more reliable slim/superslim
