hi (first of all i,m sorry for my bad english)
recently i bought an used ps3 fat. it has ferrox cobra installed on it along with multiman and everything works fine.
(except fan speed. it was really high and noisy. seller told me that he make it this way with some software to prevent this device to get overheating).
i play about 10 hrs of game (MGS HD Collection) and it was nice.
i disassemble this PS3 completely with help of ifixit website to clean it.
after disassemble and assemble it again when i turn device on it asked me for date and time. i update it to real date and time. (before of disassembly the time and date were set to something about 2012.8.21)
i try to launch multiman like every time but it give me a black screen!!! i installed irisman, webman and... still i face a black screen. i restore PS3 through setting => restore ps3 (it erease HDD and restore everything to factory setting) and reinstalled multiman and irisman. still the same problem.
my PS3 model is CECHH00 and software version is 4.82
please help me to fix this.
(my first sugest is that the problem come from date and time or something relevant with Motherboard Battery)

THANKS IN ADVANCE.

How can i make sure that i connect it properly?
Not sure really, Do you know how to use the ribbon cable clips?

The locking tab must be raised up before you pull out the ribbon cable, then it must be closed down after you put the cable back in. You could watch some videos about PS3 bluray drives to see how to use them properly.

i open the ps3 again and make sure that i connect ribbon cable correctly. then restore PS3 system and installed multiman. the problem still exist.
any opinion? (i read somewhere that flashing doughter board can help solve the bluray drive problem. IF the problem caused by Bluray drive)

WOW
Problem Solved!!
it was caused by Bluray Drive cable or Daughter Board cable. (not sure which one)
(before i sent my last reply the PS3 got a black screen like other time. i let it stay on black screen and i came to other room to my pc to sent reply and after sending reply i return to PS3 and it was FINE. problem Gone. Thank You.)
Any idea how manage fan speed? i restore system but speed fan still is high. it come from frimware?

my PS3 gone carzy! the problem come back and i did system restore and new install of multiman like last time. same problem :(
Sometimes is the ribbon cable that have one or more of the copper traces "broken" at some intermediate point internally

I mean... that ribbon cables are made like a sandwich of several layers, the outside layers are made of plastic, and the internal layer of copper traces
If you start bending the cable back and forth at an intermediate point the external plastic layers resists very well but the internal copper traces could "break"... and is imposible to detect that problem visually

The only way to detect it is with a multimeter, measuring resistance of the copper traces one by one in his "tips". The resistance should be = 0. And any other value different than 0 = broken

----------
Also, keep attention to the "tips" of the copper traces of the ribbon cables, this is something that can be checked visually, they needs to look fine and a bit shiny
If they looks brown color it means have started oxidizing a bit, you could try to polish, sandpaper, or cleaning them with alcohol but most probably this is going to damage them even more. This "oxidation" is a cheamical reaction that happens at atomic level, lets say... the copper material has been damaged atomically and there is no way back (unless you remove a thin external layer of the damaged material)

Thank you both. The ribbon cable was fine but the other side of cable was loose. this end was under a tape so last time that i open my ps3 I wasn't able to check it properly. I attach it carefully and now thank to you everything work fine.
