Hello everyone,
Recently I got a backwards compatible PS3, model CECHE01, if I'm not wrong is the one bundled with Metal Gear Solid, the previous owner said that he bought around 2008 and played like 3 or 4 times then he forgot about it, so after powering it on I found it still have OFW 2.35.
The problem I have is that after I try to change some settings I get a RSoD, I can get to the XMB and play games normally, but every time I change something in the system settings a RSoD appears.
I already tried something's:
Update to 3.55 failed, at 3% I get error 8002F14E, after some research appears to be related to the BluRay drive, but I checked and all the cables are connected and the drive is working fine, after reformatting the HD I was able to get back to the XMB.
Install Linux also failed, it fails at the bootloader install.
So, basically I am stuck at OFW 2.35, as I said games works fine, but most of my games needs to update in order to play.
There is any other thing I can try to fix it?
Already bought an teensy to try to at least bring it to 3.55, waiting for it to arrive.
