PS3 PS3 freezes as soon as I click "Enable FTP" in Evilnat 4.89.3 with an external HDD attached

In my case it always freezes the PS3.

I don't even have webMAN MOD installed or any plugins and the PS3 still freezes when returning to XMB from IRISMAN after transferring files.

It freezes only using IrisMAN FTP server? Did you try for example FTP blackbox? Do you have HDD or SSD?

No, it freezes when returning to XMB after transferring files to the PS3 and right after clicking "Enable Cobra" on XMB. Both issues only happen if I have an external HDD connected to the PS3. I tried other external HDDs and also USB Flash Drives and it always freezes, even after formatting the latter on the PC. Also, I connected the external HDDs and USB Flash Drives to the other USB port of my PS3 Slim and the PS3 always freezes too.

IRISMAN's FTP server is faster than Cobra's. I use the former because it's faster than the latter, multiMAN's, ManaGunZ's and webMAN MOD's and I'm used to it, not to mention I can mount PKGs with it on external USB NTFS partitions and multiMAN has a bloated GUI.

I have a HDD bought in August 2021. What's blackbox? I never tried it.

Blackbox is another FTP server, did you try to use the FTP on another CFW, for example Rebug, to see if this happen too? To discard CFW's fault

The last time I used another CFW was precisely Rebug REX 4.84.2 when it was released and I didn't have this PS3 freezing issue after transferring a file with IRISMAN and returning to XMB (that CFW didn't even have a FTP server unlike this one). I'll use multiMAN to find out if l have this freezing issue when returning to XMB after transferring files to the PS3.

In my case I just use cobra ftp to transfer files, freezing only happens after use it but not always. Its random...

Blackbox ftp is very old and effective I remember to use it with 3.41 and a TI84 scientific calculator to jailbreak the ps3 at the time.

So, I transferred the same file which was freezing the PS3 using multiMAN, returned to XMB and the PS3 didn't freeze so is it possible Evilnat is incompatible with the IRISMAN?

Why do you use Cobra's FTP if webMAN MOD already has FTP?

Do not use FTP Cobra until I try to fix it. I tried to transfer a big file with multiMAN and did not have any problem

Please use multiMAN or Iris Manager without Cobra's FTP enabled to check if works, also you can try blackbox, it was the first FTP server and maybe it does not freeze (to discard issues with other apps)

I can only use IRISMAN, multiMAN, etc., without Cobra's FTP enabled because if I enable the latter the PS3 immediately freezes and I don't want to use Cobra's FTP since it's slow like I stated before, anyway.

Did you try with an external HDD connected to the PS3? Remember that I only have these two problems with an USB device connected to the PS3.

Yes I always have a HDD/USB connected in dev_usb000 (the closest USB to BD Drive) and did not have issues

I always connect it to my PS3's Slim right USB port but even if I connect it to the left one, I also have these issues.

EDIT: When running xai_plugin Updater the PS3 is restarted. Is that supposed to happen?

I did remove webman from my system also.

I'm not having problems with blackbox but now when transferring files using IRISMAN it's very slow after and it doesn't become faster.

Also, FileZilla's transfer speed is now very slow when transferring files (under 1 MiB/s) the following times after deleting a former transfer in FileZilla when it's running and I can't make it recover the previous speed unless I restart the PS3.

Yes it is normal, it replaces some files in dev_flash and the PS3 needs to reboot

So the issue must be in xai_plugin FTP server, the freezes happens too in multiMAN, webMAN MOD and IrisMAN?

What freezes are you talking about? The one which happens after returning to XMB from IRISMAN doesn't happen when returning to XMB from multiMAN and ManaGunZ.

Can you try this sprx to see if it works fine? You need to put it in /dev_hdd0/plugins and add this line in /dev_hdd0/boot_plugins.txt: /dev_hdd0/plugins/openps3ftp.sprx

EDIT: More versions of it to see if any of them works
