PS3 PS3 freezes as soon as I click "Enable FTP" in Evilnat 4.89.3 with an external HDD attached

Please can you try if this PKG works now? I have tested it with old and new FTP server, old crashes randomly and the new one does not freeze

Use the correct one for your CFW version (if you choose the wrong one it will not work):

Changelog v1.3
  • Now Cobra shows the correct disc image for PS2
  • Updated FTP server (Experimental) -NEW-
  • Fixed libCrypt for PSX games (thanks to aldostools)
  • Enabled [Install All Packages] in non QA flagged PS3
  • Added german language in xai_plugin (thanks to FadedHD3)
  • Updated french language in xai_plugin (thanks to EimGdt and Chronoss09)
  • Updated OtherOS and PSN icon (thanks to HackZy01)
Enable and disable FTP server through xai_plugin and let me know if it crashes

But previously you stated the old FTP server wasn't crashing but it actually is randomly?

Tip: IRISMAN and webMAN MOD allow to change the default port 21 to 22 or 2121.
That configuration avoids port conflicts and let you run multiple FTP servers (only needed for tests).

On IRISMAN press SQUARE to the FTP option to change the port.

Can you please explain where can I change the port on Webman? I cannot find it where is that option.

Thanks

I did install XAI PEX/D-PEX version because my system is CEX/PEX (with overclock) did I installed the correct XAI?

Before trying it, can't one update the xai_plugin by downloading and running the xai_updater from the XMB itself? Also, to not use xai_plugin's FTP server while using IRISMAN since the latter is faster, wil I have to change IRISMAN's port, then?

EDIT: IRISMAN, multiMAN, etc., use the same FTP plugin, then why don't they offer the same FTP transfer speed? Also, how can one know the PS3's IP address after clicking "Enable FTP" if nothing shows up on the screen and why some times FileZilla doesn't connect to the PS2, PS3 and PS Vita/PS TV but after closing it and running it again, it does?
It does not crash if I enable and disable it (tested myself), I see that enabling it and quickly go to the XMB can freeze randomly, I do not why

I repeat it to you again, I don't know why the FTP transfer speed varies because it can be many factors, but as I have seen all of them use it

If your version is PEX yes, you have installed the correct one

What do you mean by enabling it and quickly going to XMB when "Enable FTP" is already in XMB?

Enable FTP server and quickly press circle to go back in the xai options. It didn't crash after pressing Enable/disable options

Ok, but in that case one is still in XMB. Anyway, in my case, the PS3 immediately freezes after clicking "Enable FTP".

Also, one thing is the FTP transfer speed varying between different PS3s, another is being under 1 MiB/s in the same PS3 in the following transfers after deleting a previous transfer in FileZilla when the it was running.

And what about the slow return to XMB when exiting IRISMAN issue?
I tried IrisMAN and I don't have this problem. Does it happen to you like in my video?

I made another video showing the FTP function of xai_plugin and it didn't crash for me, have you installed my latest update PKG?

My problems are solved no more freezes, I do think webman always on FTP was causing this problems randomly on cobra ftp.

Random Guy did you tryed to change ftp ports on Irisman? You have a conflict in there...

Thank you very much Evilnat for you time and hard work.

No, I only have it after transferring a file (and not always).

No, but what happens if I try to update xai_plugin via XMB by choosing the xai_updater setting that downloads a PKG and afterwards run it? Will it download that version?

No. What does that have to do with the freezing problem after clicking "Enable FTP"?

But I only have it after transferring a big PKG file (like the european GTA V) to the PS3.

No. What do you mean by conflict? I guess it's normal to use Cobra's FTP server and not IRISMAN even thoigh I'm on IRISMAN because I have to open a port on the latter.
It will not download the latest version from xai_updater because is a test PKG, you need to download it manually from the links I posted before

You can check your current IP address in System settings or in Basic Tools/Show IP, it shows the current IP address when you use Enable FTP option

IP conflict or ftp port conflict.

As you can see mine was doing some freezes, it even crashed my ps3 OS giving me only the option to re-install it again. And sometimes even the ps3 controller lost connection then I had to hard reset it, giving me the only one option on the screen the message said it was impossible to recover the OS and only gave an option to (re-install cfw4.89) by pressing SELECT+START. And some other times when I reboot the ps3 the xmb just freezed not allowing me to have time to enable/disable or delete anything.

You could have an hardware failure also, im just guessing...

Evilnat Im on xai1.3 everything ok, thanks

So I guess if it works then one will be able to install it using that xai_updater setting or wil it come integrated in a future Evilnat release?

Again, what does that have to do with the freezing problem after clicking "Enable FTP"?

It does not make any sense to use two ftp servers at the same time.

Since when did I state I used two? What about you, who was trying to use Cobra's FTP server while having webMAN MOD installed which already has a FTP server?
