PS3 has sound in games but not in menu or any other things

Basically my PS3 was all out of thermal paste but we kept using it (we didn't knew that the thermal paste was all gone), after a few months the sound in menu was completely gone (also no sound in videos and in ps1 and PS2 games) but in game sound (for PS3 games) was still working.
We took the PS3 to a repair shop and he cleaned it all up and also put some new thermal paste in, the sound returned for a little while, but when we took home and plugged it back the sound was gone again. I tried a lot of things myself but nothing worked. The sound some times returns but it's all cracking. Is there anything that I can do to repair it? Please guys.
(Sorry for bad English I'm not a native)

Firstly, restore default settings, sometimes sound issues can be resolved by doing this.

Try the AV out instead of the HDMI and see if this helps.

Thank you for replying bro means a lot to me.
I've tried your way but still nothing, but I'm happy to see someone took interest in my post

Is just what you are reporting is very weird, the sound output (hardware) is common for all enviroments PS1, PS2, PS3, etc... i cant figure why is happening that

The only thing that makes a bit of sense to me is... when you boot a app/game the sound mode switches, based on the modes enabled in the PARAM.SFO of the app/game

As you can see in that list there are a few... and it seems your PS3 is able to use a few of them, you should check the PARAM.SFO of the apps/games that have sound to identify which modes are working... and eventually make some experiments modifying the PARAM.SFO to see which ones are not working

Anyway... before spending much time in experiments you should start by confguring the sound modes under main XMB settings
There is an option where you can see all this modes in a list (probably with some of them greyed out because probably your TV doesnt supports them)... all this settings applyes to the main XMB
Start by disabling all them and keep only LPCM v2.0 enabled... thats the minimal

The pkg games of PS2 and ps1 still don't have sounds but at least PS3 games work now

Can you explain what you did when you said in your previous post that the PARAM.SFO experiments solved the problem ?
What i was suggesting was to change the console settings (not the SFOs)

I've been having a similar issue. I use a VGA monitor on my console gaming setup, and for my PS3 I recently switched from A/V to HDMI using a Tendak Active HDMI to VGA converter (which splits the audio to a 3.5mm jack)

The startup & menu sounds will play, but all the sound stops after booting into any game (or after switching resolutions in the display settings). Once that happens, I can't get the sound back until I reboot. Any ideas?

maybe you enabled the patch to redirect game sound to gamepad ?
I don't think so, is that a PS3 feature? As far as I was aware that was a PS4 thing. Also, I tried multi-output and using the A/V port for audio, which eliminates this issue, however I'd still like to know how I can just use the HDMI out.
