When the time comes to replace the internal HDD, I'm hoping there's an alternative to the slow, space-hogging Backup/Restore Utility from the PS3's System Settings when it comes to restoring data.
The main things I want to restore to the new HDD are my DLCs from the original HDD's game folder, a shared exdata folder, and all data from the home folder (users, savedata, etc). If I were to copy and paste this to external storage, then when the time comes for replacing the HDD, can I just copy and paste the game + exdata + home folders back to their proper locations on the newly formatted HDD?
Will users be restored and everything from those folders function like normal, or are additional steps needed to achieve that? (Restore File System? Rebuild Database? Maybe something involving an xRegistry.sys backup?)
