PS3 PS3 Keeps asking for firmware update

So I have installed latest EvilNat CFW and works great. However once it is switched off for a day or more, I boot it up and it says it needs firmware re-flashing. Once I have done that it asks for time and date again. It keeps doing this once completely powered down. Anyone know what is causing this?

maybe dying hdd and dead cmos battery. maybe something else.

what model? cech-???
hhd or sdd?

Probably this is irrelevant but did you also pull out the the plug from the power grid when you power off your console?
If yes maybe there is something wrong with the CMOS\PRAM battery (CR 2032)?

If it has voltage less than 3 V it is no good\worn out.

But check it after you replace your HDD, because it maybe that once you install\re-install the firmware all the settings (with date) are being lost,
and that is why you need to enter it once again.

Yeah it gets completely powered down and taken out of plug socket. I will see if new HDD works and if not will replace CMOS battery. Also the power lead/supply i am using has got 13a fuse in it, don't know if that makes a difference.
