PS3 No Longer Connects to Internet, Help!

Hi all, first time posting here. My PS3 slim ran into an issue recently where it no longer connects to the internet. It can read different networks in the area, view information and even see that there's a strong signal to my network. However when I attempt to connect to it in settings, it just times out and says the WPA2 key may be incorrect (it's not). There's nothing wrong on the router end. I'm not exactly sure which HFW I'm running (system settings tells me 4.86) but I last updated it around April 2021. I'm running HEN 3.0.3. I'd like to update to the most current HFW and HEN but I know the update requires internet connection. I've heard, at least on factory firmware that restoring default settings under system settings may fix it, however I'm afraid to do this as I'm not sure if it will change anything about the current firmware installation I have. I'm afraid to reinstall firmware due to the fear of bricking my console or restoring my PS3 in fear of losing years of digital games I've collected. Any advice from anyone that would know how to solve would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
