PS3 Proxy Server for Android

Introduction

Hi everyone.

So I'm releasing my first Android app and it is a proxy server to allow the PS3 to go online on older firmwares and that disables the system updates too. It's very easy to use and has auto start and auto save features. You can change the port of the server too. But you can't change the IP of the server. If, for any reason, someone needs to change the IP, just tell me...

fkd updated PS3 Proxy Server for Android - v1.0 - Universal with a new update entry:

PS3 Proxy Server for Android v2.0 - Universal

- Fixed bug of not saving the settings sometimes;
- Updates notifier added;
- Manual updates checker added;
- Instructions screen added;
- Now it's possible to manually write the ps3-updatelist.txt file;
- Colors changed to red, green and yellow on the entire app;
- Update IP added, so when the IP changes for some reason, it's just click there and the server will restart with the new IP.

Downloads on the bottom of the main page.

First of all, thank you, this software is very easy to use, there is a suggestion, whether it can increase the extraction download link and replace the download link function.

Hi. Could you try to explain the suggestion in another way please? I'm sorry, I didn't understand what you wanted. Thanks for the reply though!

Sorry, English is not very good, I mean to suggest adding some features of PS3.ProxyServer PC version.

Thank you
You're welcome. You have something more that could be on that list and that it's not? Those are the changes on the next version that came to my mind and I got some from the PC version and others from an Android app. Is there something more you would like to see there?

fkd updated PS3 Proxy Server for Android - v2.0 - Universal with a new update entry:

PS3 Proxy Server for Android v2.1 - Universal

- The server will automatically restart on boot if it detects that the IP changed. This is useful if you enabled the option for the server to start with the system, and the WiFi didn't start yet but the server is already On. Now, it will restart without ask only when it is started on the device boot.
If it's manually started, it will ask for a restart in a notification when it detects an IP change.
For some reason, sometimes the notification doesn't pop-up with me. I have no idea why;

hello how are you ... query could you program the app to divert the web page of the firmware update 4.84 to another server containing the hfw 4.84? and so download it?
Hi. Yeah, I could do that. Good idea. Will be done in the next update. Thanks for the suggestion!

To get online with 4.84 put the attached file (txt) in dev_hdd0 (directly in the root).
Note: You need to have WMm for this to work as WMm spoofes the firmware.
This works on both CFW and HEN.

Thanks to:
@DeViL303 for telling me.
The app is awesome but this way is easier.

Interesting. Had no idea about this. Cool to know. Thanks for saying it! But anyways, the app was actually made for HAN users. I don't completely agree with HEN (and CFW...) being online because of the infinite modders, and HAN can't have modders, so I agree with it going online. But it would be patched anyways if PSN was blocked... But yeah, the app was made for HAN users actually (even though it still helps HEN people and CFW people if they need updated Sen Enabler and it is not yet released - like now, but for CEX users, DEX doesn't need this).

EDIT: On it, write 0.00 in the version, and not 4.85 or whatever version is the latest one. Put 0.00 to make it permanent, if you want.

EDIT 2: Just a small correction on what you wrote, it doesn't work on HFW. It works on HEN. HFW is just a modified OFW (it's still OFW though). HAN on 4.84 and on 4.85 if they make it available, uses it and can't have homebrews or plugins like webMAN. And HEN can even work without HFW on 4.82, so nothing has to do with HFW (people make that confusion with CFW haha).

Yea, ok. I will correct that. Thanks!

Hey man! I have a Google Player Developer account. I would totally host it for you for free if you so wish! Thanks for this apk, it really helps a ton!
Hey! Actually I'm not quite sure that would be a good idea. I've thought about it and I decided to keep that there for me to don't forget about thinking about it when I have an account there. Because I'm not sure if it's a good idea to put an app in the Play Store that helps hacking/jailbreaking a PS3 (I'll put an internal copy of PS3Xploit site on it). And you'd have to always update that, even with me lauching new updates in the future (the app could be updated one day to support PS4/PS5 cool things - or not) and I don't want to be bothering you with that. What do you think of the 2? (even though I see the first as the more important one haha)

Are you able to connect to the PS3 Proxy Server For Android using a PS3 with HFW? Or do you have to install HEN first? I have tried everything to connect, I am following a tutorial to install HEN and the step after installing the HFW is to connect to PSN and activate the console.
I am on 4.84 however and I don't want to update to 4.85 yet so I need to connect via a proxy in order to bypass the need to update. Will this work before I install HEN or do I need to install HEN and then go back, connect via proxy and activate on PSN?

Also, the IP address that comes up on the app does not match any IP on my home network. When I try and enter a different IP (I go to cmd.exe/ipconfig and enter the IPv4 address shown there into the app), it still does not connect and eventually goes back the default IP that's not on my network.

This can be used even in pure OFW. It was actually made for HAN users, but even those without modifications or CFW users can use it.

About this, you're not the first one saying it. Someone else said t. Though, I have absolutely no idea why it happens. It should show the correct IP always. With my 2 phones it does, and supposing the 6000 people who downloaded the app don't have the problem except a really smal percentage, that could be a problem with the phone, but I don't really know. Though, you should be able to start the server with the correct IP of the phone ahich can be seen in the WiFi settings. AND you must NOT have another server on the phone running in the same port as the port you chose. Also you could try older versions of the app, even though that won't make any better, since the server program hasn't changed since even the first alpha testing version of the app.

@Hellhammer666 If you try any of the things I mentioned, please say how it went. If you still can't put it working in any way after trying them, I've no idea what the problem might be. Though, I'll try to change the way the app searches for the IP. Maybe it works better, I don't know. I don't even know the reason of that not detecting the correct IP!
