PS3 PS3 Safe mode with 3rd party controller

Hi, I searched everywhere on the internet but couldn't find a proper answer.
Does anyone know if the DOUBLESHOCK 3(see picture)

3rd party controllers work in safe mode?
My DualShock 3 is dead and I am left with this one and do not want to risk anything by trying to go into safemode without knowing.

If a third-party controller works on Recovery Mode, it should be a licensed one, but I'm not sure.

Clearly, the one mentioned is not compatible (but if you have one in hand, give it a try... maybe you are lucky!).

I have used obvious fake controllers on safe mode, even fake ps4 controllers to install firmware when it ask to push the PS button
