Hello!
I recently bought a working CECHCxx third hand PS3 with a broken Blu-Ray drive and no HDMI output. The drive was fixed with a donor but I am stuck on the HDMI.
The console hasn't been opened by any previous owners and the SYSCON error log shows no errors connected to AV/HDMI/RSX, only some improper shutdown related errors from 2007. I know component cables exist but I like to have my electronics working 100% as much as possible. And no HDMI also hurts the resale value
The PS3 was stock firmware 4.89 when I got it but now is on the latest Evilnat CFW 4.91.2
Symptoms:
I am assuming that the Hot plug detect HDMI pin is working at least because both my TV and the PS3 detect a device is connected to the cable right?
Hopefully I won't have to replace the HDMI transmitter BGA chip

Symptoms:
- no HDMI signal when the console is on
- MultiAV (composite cable) works perfectly fine
- PS3 detects that an HDMI cable connected to a TV is inserted at cold-boot power-on and ask if I want to use it. Selecting Yes results in no signal on TV.
- testing HDMI output in display settings results in the same no signal screen
- TV can also detect the cable is connected to a device but doesn't recognize any resolution from the signal (I have seen videos online of people having a similar(?) issue but for them their TV was able to pickup the resolution of the signal)
- tested with 3 other HDMI cables with no results
- tested on 2 other TVs with no results
- resetting video memory by holding the power button
I am assuming that the Hot plug detect HDMI pin is working at least because both my TV and the PS3 detect a device is connected to the cable right?
Hopefully I won't have to replace the HDMI transmitter BGA chip
