PS3 PS3 Slim 2501 random freezing on XMB/Launching apps

I got a PS3 Slim and after putting a SSD and repasting the system the system somehow hangs randomly when launching a game, typically right when pressing X to launch a game/app the system would freeze in the XMB then after around 5 seconds the HDD activity light comes on and around 10 seconds later it does unfreeze, anyone know what this may be?

This doesn't happen all the time more like 50% of the time where the XMB would freeze, activity light comes on, then unfreezes. Typically happens when launching a application and freezes in the XMB/after launch but never during gameplay, rebuilding database also didn't help.

There are also times when turning off the system it just hangs in a blinking green light, as if it attempts to turn off but doesn't do anything.

Help would be appreciated!

If anyone is seeing this in the future and may experience this problem I had, It may have been the SSD that I was using, I wasn't expecting this since it was a SanDisk SSD and assumed it would work well it was just a basic SanDisk SSD, not the fancy PLUS lettering or whatever, it just said SanDisk SSD and nothing more.

I switched it back to the original HDD and everything seems stable and hasn't done this weird problem. Might just get a 7200 RPM or a SSHD instead but yeah turns out the SSD might have been the culprit!

However, I have yet to see it come back but for now everything so far so good.
