Yes technically speaking that is correct. That's because the console idps is used by the getminver system function called by the pup app to determine the minimum installable version & it's possible to modify the idps in Flash memory on all models. So it may be that even when minver displays 3.56 or lower that it maybe just not true?![]()
All reference details for each model can be found in the wiki.I red on reddit that it's possible to determinate it by the date code/manufacturing date.
The Console where this thread is about is Date Code 0C, most likely it's minver 3.40 due to reddit and forum posts.
It has never been opened or modded I got it from a used retail store in my town.
I would have proven but I am/was not home this weekend.
In my tests with a slim-2101A, that had OFW 4.81 installed I got a different result. I had to restart the console 3 or 4 times until it finally initialized properly. After that, the flash patching process worked smoothly. There is no need for the homepage gymnastics with the PS3 Toolset, that's only for the old exploits & HEN.
The Toolset should always load fine no matter what else you may have been doing with the browser before using it as long as the Flash player browser plugin is not permanently disabled in the user profile.
I cannot tell you Aldo, I have never experienced any issues whatsoever with my 2 consoles after thousands of loadings & Jason never had any either on his multiple consoles during 2 years of testing. In my tests with a slim-2101A, that had OFW 4.81 installed I got a different result. I had to restart the console 3 or 4 times until it finally initialized properly. After that, the flash patching process worked smoothly.
The first time the tool complained about the inaccurate time. The next 2-3 times it didn't initialize and I had to restart the console each time, even having the tool as homepage.
BTW I'm only reporting my experience in case you can find something that could be improved. Thanks for that awesome tool.
